Hi guys I need help from all of you. By the way this website is really a helpful tool for those who are reading this.

Ok I passed my Naturalization tests however the officer cannot make a decision yet pending looking for my other file that they cannot locate. She said as soon as they find it they will review it and give me a decision. I was really upset as I was waiting for this for 5 yrs because I am planning on filing for a K1 and have waited 5 yrs too. Me nad my fiance have been separated for 5 yrs and only see each other once a year for like 3 wks.

Anyway anybody out there who had the same plight like me? What will happen next. She never said that it was an FBI background delay but it was a file which has my name on it that they cannpt find as of the moment. Is there anything I can do to expedite them processing this as I don't see it as my fault since I have provided them all the requirements needed when I aplied for the citizenship. I actually wrote her a letter today I know its too soon since its only been 5 days since I was interviewed but I wanna make sure that my case is being taken cared of and not just siiting on her desk. Again thanks for the help I would greatly appreciate it.

By the way I spoke with the lawyer and he told me all I can do is wait. Thanks again

Did they happen to tell you what kind of file they are missing? That is very scary to me, because at my daughter's AOS interview (hers was after mine because she followed-to-join a year after me), they told me that her K-2 file was missing. Usually they keep the K-2 file with the Mom's K-1 file, but because she came after me, her file was lost.

I hope that this isn't going to prove to be a problem for her at the time she goes for her citizenship.

Now, I will have all kinds of things to worry about for another 4 years!!!!! (she can't start the naturalization process for 4 more years).

I hope it all works out for you and that this can all be behind you soon and that you and your fiance can finally be together.

same situation i had.

interviewed on 04/18/2005

waited, waited and waited for the oath ceremony letter to come in the mail... but didn't receive one. and then I called the 1-800 number to find out??? and they don't tell you anything, n placed a request.. and then received a letter from them saying that my oath ceremony was on the december 2, 2005 and i missed. (tho never received the letter in the mail) how wuz i suppose to know??? soooon I received the letter, i rushed at the local office 01/04/2006 and explained my situation and the officer, then, forwarded my request to the supervisor, and received a call from the supervisor on feb 9, 2006 and finally gave me another date (05/12/2006). and FINALLY BECAME A US CITIZEN !!! LONG WAIT> and now waiting for mah fiance to join me HERE !!!!!!
