How important is the employment verification letter?

so i noticed that i made an error on my start date for my current job (01/07/07 instead of 01/07/08). im thinking of not getting the verification letter from ,y employer since i have by tax transcripts, most current W-2 and paystubs for the last 6 months. Is this going to be a problem?

im thinking getting a letter will contradict what noted on my G-325A forms

Depends on the consulate. They are the ones that look for that info.

If your case just got to the consulate today then you've probably got a bit of time before your interview. Maybe it'd be worthwhile to get the letter corrected, just in case.

if possible get another one, you should get it the sameday because the HR is in your company...

If you do not supply the letter you will delay your case. Easier to say that you type the wrong year then have your case on hold till you get the letter and then have to explain after the wait.

If you have current documentation of your employment it is not important, check stubs etc.
