Coming off of a very frustrating day already...

My Latina gets some passport style photos taken in Colombia. The passport photo place emails them to me.

I call AAA to see if I can email the pix to them. "No, you can bring in your own pictures, or we can take them here." (No surprise...)

I am thinking, if I print these out on my inkjet, I will need photo paper, or some "special" kind of paper... what if I get the paper wrong... or the size wrong...

So I do a google on passport photo requirements...

The US Goverment website suggests, for digital photos, to take them to a photo shop to make sure the quality is correct...

I call the local "Cord Camera" (do they have that in your area?), and they give me the run-around because the guy is spooked that I am trying to put together some bogus passport ID or something... after he tells me over the phone that I can bring in pix and they can print them... then he tells me that they are unable to print the photos to the right size, and cut them... they are only equipped to cut polaroid photos to that size...

Eventually he relents and tells me that they'll be ready tomorrow...

What shon said. It's not expensive and it takes a few minutes. You remind me of this friend who downloaded freeware to make his own passport photos and wasted a few days tinkering with it before it would work right. When all he had to do was drive down to the local Walmart and ta-da!

where is the beef on the fight?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I usually just got to CVS (Eckerds, Walgreens, etc) or the USPS office and get mine. CVS takes about 10mins and I walk out with my passport photos in hand. Never had a problem with it. There must be some place in Columbia that is similar... or are you guys trying to save a couple bucks? My wife and I ususally fedex the stuff next day delivery. This visa process cost some money.. but not so much.. just splurge and get top of the line service with what ever you do.. in the end it is worth it and saves some time and fusteration.

My local Inkley's (ritz camera) has a service where I can upload photos that I want to print on their website, and then just drive over and pick them up.

That's what I did when I needed to print off copies of our pics together for our supplemental proof of having met. All I had were digital pics, from my digital camera, or from the pics he had scanned and e-mailed to me.

Really good quality prints.

As an aside, when I was getting ready to take my whole family with me to Malaysia, we needed to get passport size photos for the whole family. We just took photos with a digital camera while standing in front of a white wall (my 6-month old baby I had lie on a white sheet for his picture) and then we were able to crop as appropriate, and resize, and print the pics to the correct dimensions on the inkjet printer. They were of good enough quality not only for the passports for all of us, but also for my temporary work permit visa into Malaysia.
