There is not enough info in your post to answer... You plan to marry here/there/somewhere? Requirements for marriage will vary depending on country and locality.

I was in your shoes over a year ago now and still no visa. Read all Ecuador postings and when you have the interview, go to it or else you will end up like us-1 year and a month no visa. When you start dealing with the consulate, be prepared for the worst treatment possible. I was in there a few weeks ago and dealt with an angry employee and asked to speak with someone else and he was tolerable at least. Nice guys finish last with these jerks.

For what I gather, you want to marry your fiancee in Ecuador. You are going to need; your passport, an authorization from the US Embassy, a statement in the Us Embassy that you are free to marry, if you were previously married, a divorce decree with its legalization in the Ecuadorian Embassy in your city and a translation to spanish. Also she is going to need her birth certificate, her valid Ecuadorian ID, her certificate of the last election, if she was married before, a divorce decree legalized in the Registro Civil and, if she has children, a special document called CURADURIA AD LITEM, which is a paper that names a legal guardian for her children (this is a paper that is made by a lawyer and takes 4 to 6 months to be ready) -I have a really good, honest lawyer who can do that for you-

Then with all these papers, you have to go to the Registro Civil, pay $6 bucks if you want to marry there or $60 bucks if you want to marry at her house.

I hope this information was usefull.
