Hi,

Im schedule for my biometrics on May 28th. Yesterday my husband found out he had a meeting that day, which he can't get out of. I was wondering if I go there in person today or tomorrow, will the ASC staff let me do the biometerics or at least schedule me for a Wed Afternoon / Saturday as it says on the notice letter? ( On the notice it also says you have to mail in the info and they will give you a new notice).

Has anyone walked in at the St Paul ASC? or any other ASC in the US? Please let me know?

Thanks

I don't think they accept walk-ins. When I did mine (a few years back), they had a list of people who were supposed to be there. I think you'd just be wasting your time. You don't need your husband to be with you. You just go through the line, and wait your turn until they call you. Couldn't you just take a bus or a taxi? If not, just mail them the change of date.

As msdelila said, you do not need your husband with you, so if you can make it to the DO on your own on that day, well and good. If not, then you could try a walk-in.

In my case, the Tampa DO does not accept walk-ins, which they stress on the biometrics appointment letter and on the USCIS website. I did a walk-in there anyway and I got some grief from security. After explaining that I may not be able to make the appointment and why (business travel that is usually scheduled at the last minute), they allowed me to go ahead and get it done, but only after waiting for others that were scheduled to do theirs first (very fair).

It might be worth a try for you also, or just re-schedule using a copy of the appointment letter as jeangab75 said.

We had to be in Chicago the same day her N-400 biometrics appointment was scheduled in Milwaukee, we just went to Milwaukee at noon on the following Wednesday with no problems and no notification to the USCIS as her I-797c said if you can't make it, can report on any Wednesday at noon before a certain date.

We were also bounced back and forth for biometrics between Bloomington and Milwaukee. It would be good for you to bring a copy of your N-400 with you, appointment letter, and green card, you will have to fill out a form with essentially the same information on your N-400, and if you are like my wife, gets brain dead when walking into a guarded USCIS office, couldn't remember her Alien nor social security number, but her Alien number was on her green card.

Also hit them for that study guide, you will do fine.

Hey I just went over to the St Paul ASC and they let me do my biometrics today. There was no customers in line and they were still open for another 90 minutes. The staff person said they normally don't take walk in and i should have sent them a copy of my notice for rescheduling. It's our first day in the 80's, sunny.. I think the staff was in a bright mood.

What was unusual was they only took my fingerprints and not a picture anymore. Is this normal for the N400?

Thanks guys/gals

The notice we got stated it was for fingerprints only. Perhsps they do things differently office by office? Nothing really surprises me with USCIS anymore.

I wish the Denver ASC did take photos for N-400s. My wife wasn't happy with the pictures she had taken at Walgreens cor the application.

I recall though on my biometerics last year for my permanent residence card (10 years), St Paul ASC took pictues and those taken were the one used on my card. The ones I sent with the application were better, but was not used. So when does USCIS start issuing notices for interview? How many weeks, days or months after the biometrics.

We had our AOS at Bloomington (St. Paul), where they did take photos of my wife and daughter for their conditional green cards. The woman IO we had for all three of us, my wife, step daughter, and me was wonderful, we had a very nice but long interview. I like Bloomington, right off the interstate and lots of parking space. But then we were sent to Milwaukee for the ten year card, with road construction and tons of traffic, was a mess, wife and daughter dressed nicely and fixed their hair for the photos.

Again to Milwaukee for the N-400, but only for fingerprints, did read the USCIS saves prints for 15 months, this was exactly 11 months later, asked the fingerprint taker about that, a 430 mile extra trip, he said, I don't know, I just work here. We took our own photos for the N-400, LOL, many of them, when I told my wife, no earrings, she fixed her hair to cover her ears, but had problems with her keeping a straight face, no smiles permitted on these pictures.

Milwaukee was real nice to us for the ten year card, my daughter was scheduled two weeks later, but they did take her prints and photos after I got down on my knees and held my hands in a prayer fashion and begged them too to save another 430 mile trip. Guess they didn't like to see a grown man cry. All in all 1,320 miles of driving just for prints and two photo shots, wife and daughter never did like their USCIS photos on their green cards. But you can get the photos you want for your certificate, just don't smile nor wear any jewelry.

They are open 8-4, we went very late in the day and no one was really there waiting for any services. Going early in the morning their might be people, but if you dont live too far, take a chance and go there.
