tanong about notary

Hello to everyone. I'm gonna ask another question here again since i know that you guys have been very helpful to us in preparing our stuff for my interview....so anyway here's my question..

I have my husband's passport photocopy, and it says in the requirements of CRBA for our son that we should photocopy visas from our passport that shows 9months prior to my son's birth that we were together and have the copy notarize. So, is it okay to have his passport visa photocopy notarized here in the Philippines and not in the US even if he's there? Actually l have notarized it already but i'm not sure if this is accepted by the USEM when i'll show it. What do u think?

Also, the CRBA requires NOTARIZED statement of consent to issue a passport for our son from my hubby since he won't be in the philippines when l apply for it, is it okay to have the statment of consent he filled up in the US be notarized here?

Thanks for your help...God bless us all.....

Sterling

Hello there, The statement of consent that your fiance filled out should be notarized in the States. Actually the form is supposed to be signed in front of the notary public before they notarize it. I would have him fill out another form and express mail it to you so you have it in time for your interview. I just had to do this for my fiances interview as well. I screwed the first one up..put my name where our daughters name was supposed to be so I had to fill another one out and fedexed it to her. Hope this help and good luck on your interview. By the way you have a beautiful baby.

Mike

Oh I forgot the first part of your question. Yes it should be ok to have your fiances passport photocopy to be notorized in the Philippines. That is what my fiance did. She actually has my passport with her as well so she can take it with her to the embassy.
