When I got to my POE (LAX), they didn't give me this I-94. I just arrived here last June 22. What form do I need to file to get this coz I can't apply for my EAD without it.

Thanks in advance :)

Double check your passport, in mine the I-94 is just a little piece of paper. Others have said they didn't get one, but checked their PP and there it was :)

If not, you can try contacting LAX to see if they can issue a duplicate, or I believe you can order a replacement here

Before the plane landed in LA...they passed out immigration forms for you to fill out...what happened to yours??

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Would they let you go thru customs without one???

I would think the officers in Customs would actually ASK for one. It's the way to control who's been in the country and for how long... It's a VERY important document for them...

Then I would call ICE and find out how to get one. Cant apply for a duplicate if it doesnt exist.

Are you near an international airport??

yes, would it be fine to go there even it's not my POE?

desert_fox,

ICE? Or CBP?

Yodrak

Are you near an international airport??

Right....CBP (Customs and Border Protection)

They are the ppl who do the inspections at the POEs

You will find them at any POE in the country. Call them and find out.

ICE is the law enforcement arm

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

It isn't customs that collects the I-94, it is the CBP officer, and I just don't understand how anyone could get through Immigration, especially at LAX, without an I-94? Immigration also checks the Customs form, but it is the customs inspector that collects it.

Once again, I'm just really puzzled how that could have happened.

sugarcane,

Well, customs officers are CBP officers, but you're right that it's the immigration side of CBP that processes the I-94 on entry. I too wonder how someone could get past the immigration station without doing an I-94. Maybe Sheila did fill out an I-94 but has forgotten or didn't realize, and the immigration officer kept both parts of it instead of putting the departure half in her passport.

Where's zyggy when we need him?

You say that, but when I worked at an international airport back in the UK, we had a customer who left his passport at our branch landside, and managed to get airside, into the departure lounge without it!
