Question for those who have gone through Embassy in Accra Ghana

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask those who have gone through the Embassy in Ghana whether they had a problem with blacking out social security numbers on tax returns, paystubs, etc. I just spoke to my co-sponsor and she was concerned about the security of her personal information so she blacked out the socials on her tax transcripts before I could ask her not to. We are going to have to submit the I-864 because the Consular would not accept the I-134 I sent for my fiance's first interview. I just need to know, has anyone had experience with submiting the support papers and tax records with their socials blacked out, and did this cause a problem? I want to make sure that we have no problems this time, so if I need to beg her to call the IRS and request more copies, I can before our deadline approaches.

Thanks to you all :)

I blocked all social security and bank account numbers out, too. No problems.

I blacked out my SSN and account numbers. We had no issues.

but isnt your ssn on the 1-129 F application? u didnt block that out cuz INS had to process it..

Dont the peole in Ghana have your i-129 F form? or no?

What about the exact replica of the i-129F you gave your fiance--did you block out your SSN on those copies?

I dont like the idea of people in Africa, where the 419 scam is alilve and well, having my SSn, so id like to know exactly what forms you blocked out your SSN/account number , in terms of forms submitted in Ghana by your fiance.

You should always be concerned about your SSN but I doubt you should worry about people in any consulate (US or otherwise) using your SSN improperly. At least no more concerned than you would be that your bank, cell phone carrier, utility company, health insurance provider, doctor's office, dentist, etc. has your SSN. In general, if you wish to protect your credit place a security freeze with all 3 credit bureaus.

I am talking about other documents that I sent my SO for the interview. I blocked out my account numbers on my bank statements for example.
