Good Afternoon All,

Thanks for taking time out to read my post! I was just wondering  I filed both cases for my husband hoping that the i129 would come through faster which is has. At the moment He hasnt received any paperwork from the NVC except for the affidavit for the i130. I'm just wondering how long it will take for him to get his packet 3 and 4. Our interview date should be coming up soon and I'm really hoping that he gets his stuff soon. Also on my i129 receipt it says the approval is only good til 7/17/2009 so with that being said we must have our interview before them correct? I just dont know why he hasnt received any paperwork but the Affidavit form for the i130. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated on this.

The consulate extends the validity of the I-129F so don't worry about the expiration date on the NOA2.

If you are strictly perusing the K-3 OPTION then do not respond to anything from NVC (I-864 packet, DS3032, and DS-230).

Use timelines to get an idea on processing times, this is what VJ timelines are for.

Note K-3 was developed at a time when I-130 was taking a very long time to process, the K-3 was to allow the spouse to enter the USA and WAIT for I-130 to be approved, since USCIS has been approving both I-130 and I-129F on the same date lately this has essentially did away with the reason the K-3 was developed.

Consider using the shortcuts and get the I-130 moved through NVC and on to the consulate, some even delay the K-3 interview to allow the I-130 to make it to the consulate. If the I-130 gets to the consulate before K-3 interview, the K-3 is dropped in favor of the CR-1 (I-130) visa.

The CR-1 has the added benefit of getting green-card upon entry to the USA, NO need to adjust status and dump $1010 to pay for this and mor dealing with USCIS.

Profile details please, it says K-1, yet you are K-3. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

Moving this to general consulate forum.
