Hi

I really need your opinion for this, my current passport (with my k1 visa on it) will expire on nov 8 2009. and my schedule flight was may 28. do i need to renew my passport now? if so what will happen to my old passport? im worried coz my visa is printed in my old passport.

some said i need to bring my old & new passport in entering US.. so confused

Hi

You need to renew your passport...you cannot travel with your current passport coz it's less than 6months valid from the day of your flight to its expiratioon...you don't have to worry about your visa because the old passport will be returned to you...

that's right you have to bring both new and old passport...

have a safe trip soon!!!

if you renew your current passport, they will punch two holes on that old one. I had mine renewed here at DC and that's what they did. I think you're still good to go, renew your passport when you get here (US).

11-12-2008 Sent AOS, EAD, AP via USPS

11-13-2008 USCIS received the papers @ 3pm!

11-20-2008 3 NOAs

11-24-2008 check cashed

01-05-2009 Recieved Biometrics Letter on mail

01-12-2009 AP approved! / EAD touched

01-29-2009 Biometrics Done

01-30-2009 AOS Touched

03-09-2009 EAD Card Production ordered

04-07-2009 Interview

06-23-2009 Re-scheduled interview.. approved!

when will I file I-751?

the travel agency can't do my reservation until i renewed my passport, its part of the requirements they said coz i might get in trouble at POE in us.

i need to reschedule my flight... again..

i think you can renew the passport in any philippine embassy in US.

they said it better to renew it now here in phil, coz i might get in trouble at POE in us.

i need to reschedule my flight... again..

05-16-2008 - Recieved the AOS Fee Bill with Manila Case number

05-18-2008 - Sent Choice of Agent via email

07-29-2008 - Recieved IV bill from the mail

09-10-2008 - Paid the I864 bill and IV bill

09-16-2008 - NVC mailed the Instruction packet agent to my hubby

09-28-2008 - Received hard copy of the instruction packet agent

09-29-2008 - Received the I864 packet

03-02-2009 - Hubby sent the I864 and DS230 to NVC

03-06-2009 - NVC received I-864, under review

03-10-2009 - NVC received DS230, under review

03-13-2009 - I-864 complete, still reviewing the DS230

03-19-2009 - Under NVC final review, the operator told me that i need to redo my DS230

03-23-2009 - CASE COMPLETE!!!

03-25-2009 - GOT A MAY 7 INTERVIEW!!!

03-26-2009 - received appointment letter from NVC through email

03-31-2009 - 1st day Medical

04-01-2009 - 2nd day Medical. PASSED!

Yes that is one of the requirements if you will travel abroad...at least 6months validity of your passport...
