Contacted USCIS today to get an update regarding the application filed for my fiancee. We filed January 12 at the Vermont Service Center, it was received the 14th and I received NOA1 on the 17th. That is the last thing I have heard!

So I decided to call and try to find out what is going on... that was futile! All I got was a a bunch of legalese read to me from their website which I could have read online for free, instead of using my Cellphone minutes.

Basically, I was told that since it is still within the 6 month time frame, I should simply wait and call back if I don't hear anything after 6 months!

What makes me so angry is that there are applications that were filed after ours and they have already been approved and sent off to the NVC!!!

Is anyone else feeling like they are getting a run-around?

Ask the people like myself who are still waiting from December, or some people from November and October. Chill out. Get used to people getting approved waaaaay before you. There is no rhyme or reason for this. Only start to freak out of you are approaching the 6 month mark.

The people you call as the USCIS only have the info that you can see on your screen and nothing else. They can only help you if you are about to approach the 6+ month waiting mark, and that's it.

My friend I feel your pain. They sent us an RFE (Request for Evidence) on April 9th and they got our package on the 16th of April. Our letter says it can take 30 to 60 days to get an answer from them. I was able to get someone on the phone from Vermont Service Center this morning and all they could tell me is that it was with an ajudicating officer and that I should wait. They said it could take another 60 days!!! It feels like they're just putting it off to the very last minute.

Just for the record they WERE getting approved in about 40ish days back in March until the H1B thing in April hit...theres been like a total of 40 approvals for all of April and May together since then. The only 2 applications that got approved in a fast time in April or May were both military expedites. Things change all the time, so dont panic. We called because ours still isnt showing in the system after 3 months and they told us the same 6 month thing. Just have to wait till then, hope you get it before that, and if not get ready to contact your reps.

Relax! According to the USCIS website, it takes six months to process a I-129F. So, you have to keep a mindset that it will occur in six months. There will be those who will get lucky and get their NOA2 faster, even if they applied after. It's just the nature of the game!

Anyways, there are those that have applied a lot earlier that haven't received their NOA2. Until you hit six months, all you can do is wait and be patient.

I'm one of them. I filed in late November. Got my NVC letter marked April 8th, but my fiancee has yet to receive anything over there. I'm worried, but I know there are people here that waited just as long. Though, there's nothing I can do but wait.

I don't know if these means anything or not, but they supposedly are doing an "inquiry" for us. Since we aren't in the on line system (somehow that's "normal"), I always get transferred to a "higher level" of customer service. They can see some details about your petition (address, birthdays, names, etc). I complained last week and the lady offered to do an inquiry for me. After holding for a while, she gave me a long reference number.

I called back the other day to check the status of my case, got connected again to 2nd level customer service, and he said, oh hey, you have an inquiry pending! You should hear something in a couple of weeks.

For whatever it's worth...

Of course we feel like we are getting the run-around! lol- its making me a little delirious  I filed a k-1 a few years ago [7 maybe ] the marriage didnt work out- we split as friends..point im getting at is, the process used to be faster and you used to be able to actually talk to someone at the service center. now its all automated and even though they say " our customer service reps are available" you have to manuever your way to speak with a person. AND THEN, that person is not even at the service center but at a call center and they only read to you what they see on a computer screen- which you could do yourself. that being said- its pretty much useless to call them[ uscis ] I met the woman i was supposed to be with from the start and i have filed another k-1, and it seems to be going slower than b4. on top of that, i had to do a RFE [ request for a waiver] which may delay getting my NOA2. I'm now at month 4 of the waiting and i almost contacted my senator today. BUT- i didnt. not going to do that until its been 6 months. It is hard to wait my friend, especially when you see others getting theirs faster than you. every case is different with different circumstances and although i hate to even type this, there really is nothing you can do but wait [ until you hit the 6 month mark ] you can cuss, throw a fit, complain, all of which are futile. like someone else said, try to stay busy, get a part time job and use the savings for the plane tickets or the wedding. the time will pass a little easier if you stay busy. you might be saying this is all a crock! lol im writing it and i think it is! but its really not-theres nothing u can do - too much red tape to get thru- until you hit 6 months, there is no point in freaking out- take it from someone that wants to every day because of this insane waiting. and if that doesnt help- just think about the people that have been waiting longer and consider yourself lucky if you get it in 6. breathe and try to relax

we are all comrades in this struggle ............

There is ZERO way to speed this process up.

Same thing is happenning to me. I filed my K-1 and recieved my NOA1 January 9th. Still no word on my case. I figure the only thing I can do is wait until July 9th and then call.

This just in........
