VISA APPROVED

Thank you my dear friends for all your support over these long hard months of waiting.

I can't believe it's ALMOST over...

The interview was EASY and PAINLESS the CO did not ask for any proof / docs/ photos....

I was asked 5 questions: How did you meet, when was the last time you saw each other, where does your husbamnd live, where does he work and when did you get married.

The Co then advised me that the Visa has been issued and I could pick it up from VFS later this evening.

Strange thing she did not even ask me for the DS 230 Part 2...I only realised once I left the consulate :wacko:

Congratulations Sarita ! Will you be pursuing the CR-1 now ? I am not sure if it is possible after you get your K3 visa but you could conceivably go to Canada for the CR-1 interview after you move to the US (not always an option for the rest of us). That would save you the hassle of doing AOS, EAD, AP, etc.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Roodee: We do plan to persure the IR1 interview. Canada is quite back logged we did not make it for June but are hopeful for a JULY INTERVIEW

Awaiting Wednesday to roll by so hubby can pick up his visa from embassy and book the airfare. Hoping he can find an available seat for Friday May 22nd!! Keeping my fingers crossed!

waiver status: I was told by the embassy today that I need to come back to Costa Rica for TWO more interviews. They told me that they will schedule them in the same week due to my travel situation. They e-mailed me some info and told me there is a waiver instruction packet that needs to be followed and they need all original letters and evidence. There is also a form that they have to fill out with us. Airfare is ridiculous for June so July is most likely ( only if Tucho can pay for my flight) I found a lfight for $300 today. Maybe they will go down a bit.... WHO KNOWS.

Life is pretty sucky on the homefront.... I'm waiting for something good to happen......
