I am at a loss. CSC received our I-751 on April 9. Got our NOA about a week later but nothing since. I called the other day and they said they would do something and send out an appointment letter some time in the next 45 days. Problem is we are going to be out of the country all summer. Is there anything I can do to get something done? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not of a hell of a lot you can do. Sounds like they already did a service request for the biometrics appointment letter.

We went thru the same trip. Finally got our senators immigration specialist on it and she got it moving RIGHT away.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Hi dougyceci,

Sorry to hear about your situation. I dont know when you will be going out of country for summer. But I would advice you

please don't go without having your biometric taken, if you don't do your biometric your application will be considered

abandoned by USCIS.

So the solution is, Let's say if you wait 1 or 2 more weeks and it's 45 days since you got your NOA. Make a info pass this week for 2-3 weeks from now, meaning make an appointment which puts your 45 days after you heard from USCIS, in this case your NOA.

At the info pass ask the Immigration officer that you didn't hear anything from USICS after NOA and it's been 45 days and you are going out of country and need the biometric taken. Most of the centers do have facility do the biometrics.

If in case you get your biometric letter before infopass, cancel your infopass and do an early biometric to get done with it.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck.

OK just an update and another question. I got my biometrix letter and appointment today in the mail. Today is the 26th and the appointment is for the 28th. Yea this Thursday. I had the search done after my 30 days were up. My question is the appointment I know is for fingerprints. What else goes on and how long does it normally take. I am in a bit of a bind as Ceci does not speak English well and I am going to have a hard time getting off work with this short notice. Any info on what she will need to do there and a general idea on how long it may take would be appreciated. Thanks.

The normal process should take about 10 minutes (excludes waiting time). They will take all 10 fingerprints, couple more extra for the right index finger, then take a mug shot photo (joking, truth is passport style photo), and the signature. I've heard people waited 30 minutes to an hour even if you go on destinated time, if you have to wait more than an hour, definitely complain. If you live far away from the ASC, I guess it's half a day off. For some, if the travel time to ASC is 2-3 hours, then it would be a whole day off. Remember to bring at least two types of government issued identification with photos on it, e.g. state driver license/ID card, passport, 2 year GC, EAD, etc. And don't forget most importantly your biometrics appointment letter. Hope that helps!
