I feel very angry with US embassy in Cairo...

I sent Package 3 for them at the 29th of May and till now didn't receive any interview letters!!!

and when my husband emailed them 2 weeks ago they said my interview will be in July and we waited and waited and nothing happened ..Now he emailed them 2 days ago and replied him that I will have my interview in August !!!!! how retarded is that I get my interview 3 months after sending my package!!!!!!

Why this is happending to us !!!?

Now I really even start to doubt the my interview will be even in August ..My husband and I feel very disappointed and depressed because we waited alot enough..!!!

do you think it will be a good idea to contact a senator ? and push them sechedule interview date for me ?? :help:

They schedule interviews as the petitions are received and as time permits. Patience, patience, it's hard, but we all gotta wait :luv:

The time for this process is anywhere from 6 months to over 2 years in the ME. Most fall in the 6 months to one year range, so your case is ordinary. Just be glad you're not going through Jordan, where interviews are booked through mid 2007 I believe.

No no, 6 months to a year to finish the visa process. You're about 6 months in, so your timeline is normal up until this point (F)

ohh no dont get depressed. you have not gotton past the interview yet.. look use this time

to relax from this immigrantion mess. think of it as a breather. after the interview you may have

AR/AP. thats when being depressed wil for sure set in. we are on AP 10 months 4 days and counting.

some days good, some days bad. I would have to say the wait til interview day was the best time in the process we had somethign to he happy and excited about. we were not even stressed waiting for that day to arrive. its after the interview we both got sad.

Here's how I looked at our visa process, and even our long long distance relationship (4 years) prior to it:

It was my last time to be a single woman. I spent a lot of time with my friends. I read lots of books, and watched lots of my favorite tv shows. I did everything that would be relegated to second place once my husband and I were together. Once you're living together, your life changes, and your spouse takes up a ton of your time.

Enjoy what little remaining free time you have! Especially since you're moving to the United States, away from your friends and family, use these months to spend every waking moment with them.

Shon, I can say I agree 100% with what you say here. Waiting for the interview was a nervous time yes, but we had something to do, something to look towards, something to work for. We have been sitting on AP/AR for over 3 months now and I know what this is doing to us. We have no expectation of "when" this process will be complete, but it doesn't make it any easier. I can't imagine how those who have doubled and tripled our waiting time can cope. The two of you would do well to just relax and not set any expectation on when your life will finally start hand in hand, just focus on the fact that it will.

Believe me Salwa, I understand your feeling well. Mohammed is so depressed he has gone and made himself sick. I have managed to lose a job and am struggling with deep depression. Stop this now before you end up in this pit too. IT'S EXTREMELY HARD TO CRAWL BACK OUT OF. Spend your days loving your Mark, talk about your dreams, make plans for what you will do when you are reunited and find patience. You'll make it through.

Three months after the packet is sent in is about the norm for Cairo. We sent in our packet in November and had our interview in February. Now have been on AR for 4 1/2 months. Keep busy or the waiting will make you crazy! The only thing good that has come out of this is that I have been so stressed I've lost a lot of weight! WHOOO HOOO! There are many gals here on VJ that are great about letting you vent, which is something else that has helped me out a lot. (F)

Just-waiting Thank you very much for your words ..But I feel very depressed and I am trying not to I am supposed to study for my USMLE but every time I open these text books I feel more depressed ..2 weeks ago i was very depressed to the the degress i a;ways felt I can't breathe ..this feelings were killing me then my husband Mark pushed me to go to Gym ..and work out since that will make me feel better In the beginig and "somehow still" I am not motivated to go to the Gym , when you are depressed and miss the most important person in ur life .you don't feel motivated to do anything!!!!!

Reading your Post " sorry to say that" made me feel worse ..I feel bad that my interview may be in August and now you are talking about AR !!!! I don't know I think the moment I will hear the CO giving me this paper telling me Iam on AR I may end up either Break down or my heart will simply stop!!!!!...

I don't feel like a married woman already !!!! really as much as I have been under too much stress for 7 years in college ..compared to this process ..this 7 years were NOTHING!!!!!

I feel very bad I hate my room "too much memories with Mark" as soon as my brother finishes his exams I will move to his room ...may be this will make me feel better "although we have memories every where here we ate and here we talk watch Tv ,..etc..

I am afraid I will really broke down ..sorry but I need to stop being in VJ esp ME/NA forum because as much as people are very supoortive and helpful here I see their AP or AR and I got depressed!!!!...

Thank you again

Salwa
