after she enters the US she has 3 months to marry, no exceptions....

90 days not 3 months.

30 days = 1 month

60 days = 2 months

90 days = 3 months

Except for the 8 months out of the year that don't have 30 days. There is a difference.

10.23.08 - sent K1 packet

10.29.08 - NOA1

02.19.09 - NOA2 113 days, Igor's #226

04.13.09 - Interview, Visa in hand next day

04.19.09 - POE Atlanta

04.20.09 - Married!

AOS Process

06.09.09 - sent AOS,EAD,AP packet

06.17.09 - NOAs issued

06.24.09 - Biometrics done (3 weeks earlier than appt date)

07.03.09 - received RFE for I-693 (dated 6.29, responded 7.07)

07.23.09 - transferred to CSC (received letter 7.27)

07.29.09 - EAD Card Production Ordered & AP Approved

11.23.09 - AOS touched - card production ordered & welcome letter sent - 13 months exactly after initially applying for K-1!

12.03.09 - GC arrived in mail

Removal of Conditions Process

07.28.11 - received reminder letter from USCIS to remove conditions before 11.18.11

09.28.11 - mailed I-751 packet

10.03.11 - NOA

10.05.11 - check cashed

11.25.11 - Biometrics

07.24.12 - GC approved!

08.01.12 - GC arrived in mail

Citizenship Process

12.16.16 - sent N400 packet

12.23.16 - NOA issued

01.27.17 - Biometrics done

02.01.17 - put in line for interview

03.15.17 - scheduled for an interview on 04.21.17, had to write a letter asking for a reschedule because we will be out of the country

03.31.17 - scheduled for an interview again

05.09.17 - Interview!

If I were you I would get married as soon as I could. Like others have said, something might happen that can prevent you from getting married the day you want. My fiance and I are having a ceremony way before the K-1 Visa process is even finished - yes, our ceremony will take place before the actual legal marriage. So if you want get married on the June 12th so bad, you should get LEGALLY married right now, and then have a ceremony on June 12th. Just a thought. Good luck!

K-1 TIMELINE:

05-11-2009: NOA1

05-20-2009: called the Military Help Line and requested for expedite

06-04-2009: NOA2

06-14-2009: NVC letter received in the mail

07-02-2009: Packet 4 received

08-27-2009: Interview - Visa approved!

09-03-2009: visa in hands.

09-20-2009: POE - Miami

09-21-2009: we got married!

AOS TIMELINE:

05-12-2010: NOA1

06-08-2010: Case transferred to CSC

06-21-2010: Biometrics

I agree. Sooner rather than later. I would say take a month to sort things out, get as settled as you can then get married and try to apply for AOS Asap also.

We did the legal marriage at teh courthouse over here to make sure 100% we were married within 90 days and we will have a full blown wedding later down the line, we didnt want to have to rush that and be forced to choose our date in a 90 day time frame.

Oh and NEVER use the term 3 months. It is 90 days, there is a HUGE difference when immigration is involved.

29/06/2004 Met online

24/10/2004- Officially started dating!

-Various Trips Between the USA and Scotland-

25/12/2007- Steven Proposed, and gave me a lovely Ring!

29/02/2008- Sent I-129F to VSC

22/09/2008-1pm - Recieved Visa!

04/11/2008 -Steven comes back to Scotland for the Celebrations!

09/11/2008- We return home together!

23/01/2009- Wedding!!!

Your I-129f was approved in 108 days from your NOA1 date.

Preparing AOS Forms.

09/4/2009- Sent AOS

11/4/2009- Received and signed for

20/4/2009- Received NOA for AOS/EAD/AP (Dated April 17th)

20/4/2009- USCIS cashed check for $1010

09/5/2009- Biometrics

11/5/2009- Case transferred to CSC

05/6/2009- Received AP

09/6/2009- Received EAD

22/7/2009- Approved!

27/7/2009- Greencard in Hand

Removal of Conditions.

15/5/2011- Received @ VSC

23/5/2011-NOA1

12/07/2011- Biometrics

Looks like she entered the USA a few days too early!

Note this is in the FAQ: 6.13)...What happens if we do not get married within the 90 day validity of the K1 visa?

Correct some months have 31 days, so for example 31+30+31 is MORE than 90 days.

March 31 days, April 30 days, May 31 days, June 30 days.
