Have fiance stay in Manila for both Physical and Interview?

We are waiting for a set interview date from the US Embassy in Manila. Should I just send my Fiancee up to manila and have her stay there to do it all at once? She lives in Cebu, and I was thinking since she has to go to St Luke's Hospital and do her physical, that maybe it was best to have her do that, stay there for the other 5-7 days in a Hotel, and then do the interview at the Embassy. Any suggestions on all this? Should I have her just fly up anytime now and do the Physical, and then fly back to do the interview? Please advise! Thanks

Just wait until you have a confirmed interview date. The medical exam is always scheduled for the day before the interview. As soon as you have the interview date, you can plan her trip - good luck!

I advice that you should wait till you already set an interview, and have her come to Manila to have her physical a week before that and just wait there for the interview.

Best if you have her take the medical ASAP in case something should pop up like being in her period.

If you have the NOA2 approval notice she can take the medical now. My wife did hers 1 1/2 months early.

I recommend her staying at The Lotus Garden where my wife, daughter and sister stayed. 5 minute walk to St. Lukes . Not real fancy but clean and nice.

They stayed at the Bayview for the embassy interview.

Try and have her take the medical at least 2 weeks, if not more, early.

The medical exam is always scheduled for the day before the interview.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. I'm almost certain that the medical is done at least a week before the interview (it takes a few days for the results to be known + a few more days for the embassy to be informed).

Yeah that's completely wrong. Maybe that's how they do it in Italy!

Send her over for the medical at least 2 weeks before the Interview dates...you can call embassy and set the interview instead of waiting for the package.

Many nice places near St lukes to stay. I had my fiance take the CFO course also while there for the medical ... tickets from CEBU to Manila can be found for around 2000php roundtrip...so its not that bad to fly back and forth.

Good Luck

I am a little confused here ... the OP said waiting for the set interview date ... for the Philippines do we not call and set our interview date via phone versus waiting for the consulate to contact us to set the interview date ... or I am misreading what the OP is saying or am I misunderstanding the process in Manila ... thanks for any replies to my confussion.

ok, Just to clarify some things, I just received a email from the US Embassy in Manila. You can now call and set your own interview date, just to clear things up here. Ok fine, thats what we will do, we will call and set our own date up for the interview. Now, if we can get back to my main question here: My Fiance lives in Cebu City. My understanding is that the Exam needs to be done about a week to ten days before the interview date. Is this correct? If so, then is it easier for me to have her travel there once, and just stay for interview? Or, should I have her fly up for medical exam, stay a few days at the Lotus Garden, and return to Cebu until a day or two before her scheduled interview at the Embassy? I had planned on her staying at the Bayview, since it is right across the street from the Embassy. Ok have her stay in Manila for about 10 days, or travel back and forth??? What do you all think? Thanks...

I'd have her fly up 3 weeks or more before her scheduled USEM interview and do the St. Lukes medical. Stay 1 night at The Lotus Garden and go back home and get things organized for the embassy interview. Pretty difficult to get organized staying in a hotel.

As I said my wife, anak and her sis stayed at The Lotus Garden also. They later stayed at Bayview one night for the interview.

Hint! Have her fly from Cebu in the morning and go to St. Lukes about 12 noon. She'll beat the morning crowd then.

Also Monday thru Thursday as if she does it Friday she''ll have to go back Monday for the vaccinations. Normally takes 2 days total.

i am from Cebu. what we did is i flew in Manila twice since I am working. And also before u do ur medical ask first if when is the scheduled interview and then after that set ur medical at least 2 weeks before ur interview date. for my medical i stayed in Manila for 3 days (2 days supposedly but i have 1 day adjustment in case there will be discrepancies on my medical) and for my interview i stayed for 1 day and 1 night (i flew back during the night) i didnt rent for my auntie is from Manila. it is more cheaper to fly back Cebu than to wait renting for hotel or pension houses especially now there are promos of air fair and yes u still have to prepare things for the interview if ever :)

Anyone have advice where to get the tickets for the plane trip to Manila from Cebu? Either where I can purchase it with a credit card, or my Fiance can buy there in Cebu? Thanks for all the help.

I did my medical even before I got that letter, all I brought with me was my NOA2 passport fees and my xrays etc. Thank goodness I did it so early as I was delayed 2 months due to the sputum test (which I thought I would be anyway due to my tb history). So asap for the medical is better, when I got my medical results, my now husband called that same day and got the interview for the following week. Hope this helps.

Not true! The medical takes 2 days in the Philippines. You need time for the results to get to the Embassy. 10 before the interiew is probably close to the minimum time needed - 2 weeks is much safer.

ok here's where things get confusing for me. What paperwork or forms is required for her interview and medical? Can i schedule her interview before she has the exam done? Do I need to have an interview date verified before she can get her medical exam? Please help! The US Embassy emailed me saying I can call for an interview date and time. Where do I do from here? What is first? thanks
