Okay so I was looking over a copy of my petition that was filed with USCIS. For my fiance's G325 form under employment I told him to list NONE at the time he filled it out. Here is the issue: He is currently in NYSE, which is a mandated program that you must complete once you graduate from the university in Nigeria. It's like a internship so to speak. He started it back in end of October/ first of November. In the beginning you go through this bootcamp type training such as what we have in the States for the military. Then after that you are placed to do a internship with a company/ place of business if you choose not to join the military. He is currently teaching at a school which began end of December/ first part of January I think. This is not a permanent job. Once he completes the program he will get a certificate. He does get paid a very small amount for the internship by the government each month since they can not work at a regular job during this time. Is this something that I need to correct with USCIS here or if even asked at the interview he can explain then? I did not think of this as a "job" but more of something to do with his schooling as this is a government mandated program that they must complete. But with the part of him getting paid anything at all is what got me to thinking about this. Would I have to refile my K1 because of this or should I call them?

In Ghana they do the same thing. We included it under his employment as "internship" or "National Service"...I forget.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though. Have him list it on the forms he will need for the interview though.

I know everyone is saying not to worry about this, and I don't think you should panic about this issue, but anything that you think they will misconstrue as a lack of candor or incomplete answer, I would have corrected in your file. It will not make you start all over in the process but it will be in your file. Simply send a notarized statement of what you explained below. I wouldn't leave it to chance or wait until they ask him in the interview (but that's just me). I never like giving the government any reason to question anything!!! So if it were me, I would send a notarized statement, "G325 Clarification", and then if they ask him in the interview, he will have a copy of your letter and can explain it to them as well. That way they know you guys are being consistent, are operating under the same set of facts, and acting with due diligence to make sure your file is complete and accurate. Particularly since he will be interviewing at a Consulate where every inconsistency is deemed "fraud."

When someone forgets to add something to their petition, the general advice is to wait until you get an RFE because if you send them something on your own, the chances of it being paired up with your petition are slim to none.

The same thing would apply here. The OP can send whatever she wants, but it may not get to her petition at all. In addition, the G-325A is a biographical form, its informational. Its not like he left out that he is a nuclear scientist. Like I said before, on the other forms that her SO fills out for the interview then they can put it on there and if there are any questions he can explain it at the interview.

Thanks everyone. I think what I will do is include a letter explaining the situation like I did here and have it notorized and send with the package I send to him just so they wont think he is over there doing something I dont know about (if questioned about it it not being on the original petition but on his forms). Im already including another letter regarding a situation (thanks Zee) and will have my SO give to the interviewing officer as well. That sound good? Like Zee said with USCIS I dont even know if it will get with my file if I send it to Vermont here. Praying my NOA2 is on its way anyday now...
