Hi - My wife and I applied to remove the conditions on her green card with the VSC in December 2008. The NOA1 date is 12/24/2008. I just went online to check the case status and the website reports that the case cannot be found. I also called the 800 number and the automated system cannot find the case. Should I be concerned that the USCIS has somehow lost our paperwork?

If you are not using the number that came on the biometrics notice the number on the NOA1 won't work at all. Read the NOA1!

Right. The I-751 - unlike all other applications - has two case numbers. The first one - the one on the NOA and on the back of the cheque is an internal numbers for the use of USCIS only. It doesn't work on case status updates nor will it get you any information. The biometrics letter will have a second case number. That is the number that you can look up for case status updates, can get updates over the phone and can get emailed updates. So, just wait a little bit longer until you receive the biometrics letter.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

If you didn't receive the biometric letter within 30 days of the NOA1 call USCIS and ask for a service request for one.

Been there, did that also!

Hi there,

I have the same problem. My case number cannot be found for the last 11 months online.

Also, my number on the biometrics and the NOA are exactly the same - i.e the case numbers.

When we went for the infopass appointment to check on status of the case, we also told them that we could not pull the case status online.

All they did was give me a 1 year I-551 stamp and said wait 60 - 90 days. They said that looks like case is moving on and their are no issues. Still the case status cannot be found online when we got home.

This is CSC by the way
