Precisely what I like about him. He's no saint, and he is not going to always do the 'right thing' but I do not want an idealogue in power, they are the nuttiest and most dangerous sort.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Apparently, having core beliefs is an anathema to some. This is the kind of thinking that eventually leads to disappointment, and I'm not the one here who is disappointed in the Messiah.

Two Trillion Tons

(to the tune of "16 Tons")

Obama got elected, now there is no end

To Democrats who wanna tax and spend.

Tax and spend us into bankruptcy,

With a tax cheat running our Treasury.

You spend 2 trillion bucks, and whadda ya get?

No recovery, but deeper in debt.

Saint Peter better call 'fore it's too late.

I owe my soul to the welfare state.

Obama is a Leftist, this he can't deny.

Govern from the center was a great big lie.

Karl Marx's manifesto is his playbook.

And, you and me soon will be on the hook.

You're spendin' two trillion bucks in unsecured cash.

Soon, the dollar will be pure trash.

Our bond holders we have to appease.

We owe our soul to the Red Chinese.

Obama and his people are makin' a mess.

Bernanke's fired up the printin' press.

Printin' money that don't exist.

No wonder America is getting pissed.

Two trillion bucks; they ain't done yet.

Obama and Pelosi, pilin' up the debt.

I work hard for my money.

This, I dont deserve.

We owe our souls to the Federal Reserve.

Good one! I always liked that old Tennessee Ernie Ford tune.

Yes...we have all sold our sole to the Obam-a-rama and company store, whether we voted for him or not.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

This thread is reminding me of the study a few weeks ago of viewers of the Stephen Colbert show.

The study found that both liberals and conservatives liked Colbert. Liberals - because they 'get' the joke. Conservatives - because they don't!

Methinks something similar is going on here

I am going to do something I never thought I would do, defend Obama (if just a little). When he was running he was just spouting populist BS to get elected. He may have believed what he said out of ignorance, granted, but once he was privy to the full facts he realized that he would be putting the country in danger is he lived up to his promises. Props to him if that is the case.

NO! NO! Say it ain't true! Politicians can't grow into the office!

It does put him in a tough position. The rep voters will not like him for the promises he has kept and the hard left is growing disenchanted with him for the promises he hasn't kept. Reality is probably sucking for Obama right now.

I wouldn't go as far as "reality sucking" for him even though I do get your point. He is assured a second term unless he does something completely unforeseen and crazy.

Recent opinion poll (May 13) still shows him with 63% positive approval. Some of the honeymoon glow is wearing off (Steven, for example :P ) but

hardly all. He's still got widespread support.

Mr. Obama's approval ratings stand at 63 percent, down 5 percentage points from last month, according to the poll.

That's how I see it. It's not what I wished would happen but if there are good reasons to do revisions on some of the issues out there then I'd rather have a President that revisits (and where necessary adjusts) prior stances than one that stubbornly sticks to them.

Yep. Still at 63 and 30. That just leaves about seven percent who have not made up their minds yet.

However, the Rasmussen numbers are much tighter, when the question is asked, "Do you stongly approve, or disapprove of the job the President is doing?" 34 versus 30, to the President's favor.

It appears that for those that disapprove, their position is steadfast, while half of the President's support is lukewarm at best.
