We originally sent all our papers for the AOS/AP and EAD a month ago. The EAD was sent back as my wife filled in the wrong year on the cheque. I am not allowed to fill out cheques yet until i have my greencard. All they would give me is an ATM with limited powers even though its a joint account.

I had my biometrics for the AOS last week in manchester,NH. I sent a new EAD application 2 weeks ago and finally they decide to cash the cheque after it was delivered 9 days ago.

Will i have to do biometrics again for the ead.I read somewhere on VJ whereby someone went to do a seperate biometrics for their EAD and they were told that they had it done already when they did the first biometrics for the AOS.

Next thing i am waiting for is the rfe for my AOS application.I was sent an email last friday and it still hasnt arrived here yet.I triple checked everything when i first sent everything off so who knows what it might be.

The email said something about more evidence regarding my application. We had penty of evidence but the fact that my wife only has been working for 3 months might have something to do with it. We only arrived here in march as she was working in ireland for 2 and a half years. We only had one year tax reurns too as she had nothing to file in the US for 2 of those years while in ireland.

galwayman,

It's unfortunate that the term 'biometrics' is applied to the photo and fingerprint session for the EAD card because it's not the same high-tech biometrics that is done for adjustment of status. It's possible, but I think unlikely, that the EAD biometrics was done at your AOS biometrics session, so I expect that you will be going back to Manchester for another session.

If your wife was working in Ireland, and earned more than the minimum amount required to file a US income tax return, then she should have filed returns. She may not have had to pay any tax, but she did have to report her income.

My wife filed for 2005 in april of this year. We used her moms accountant and so far we still havent heard anything back from him. She is going to contact him this evening. Surely it doesnt take this long to file tax returns.
