Hi everyone,

So my fiancee is from Nicaragua, where they do not have a very reliable mail system. So she obtained a post box so that she can receive mail without any issues. We are initiating the K-1 visa process, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with using a Post Box instead of a residence address? The I-129F form has two places for an address, Part B 2, 3a, and 3b and then 15. I'm wondering if one part should distinguish an address to receive mail and if another part is to distinguish address of residence? Also, I'm concerned that having different addresses listed on the I-129F and G-325A will create issues with the consulate.

Any insight?

Regards,

Dan

In Kenya it's pretty much standard for P.O. Boxes to be used. Even the Embassy in Nairobi has one! So, if its the local standard, I wouldn't think it would be a problem. It was very important to have a good local phone number in the documents for my VSO as a backup contact point. We had a few snags in our process and had to be very proactive to shepherd the paperwork through including "Bogarting" the gates with the NOA2 on several occasions. Best of luck on your journey!
