Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you submitted your 3yrs of tax return then there should be no problem. I wouldn't reville that information at the interview if I was your wife. If you are going to get rehired then all should be well if not then find another job to support your family.

I wouldn't hide anything if they ask. You never wanna get caught in a lie when you are dealing with immigration. Do you have a co-sponsor? If you have a co-sponsor it shouldn't be a problem. If you don't, I wouldn't know what to tell you...maybe you can get a letter from your employer stating how long youve worked there and reason you got laid off and stating they will bring you back on once work picks up?

They might ask for a job letter. See if you can get a job letter stating what you earn and date of employment. Something like:

This is to verify that NAME has been employed with COMPANY NAME as a JOB TITLE since DATE OF EMPLOYMENT. His current annual salary is SALARY. Ask for it to be done on a company letter head and stamped. Take pay stubs with you as well just in case. I pray you will not be laid off before then. It will also be good if you have a sponsor if you do not get this letter.

They didn't ask my husband if he was currently employed they just asked for a job letter to verify his income. I claim a successful interview for you also.

I would like to know how valuable is a letter from an employer for income verification? Wouldn't your tax returns be better? Heck anybody can create a letter head and write anything, but the IRS won't lie for no one. So are you telling me that the CO actually accept letters from employers as proof as income verification?

a letter from your employer is sth auxiliary may not be asked about, but in case happened it will or must be shown with your recent salary stubs which u do lack,so anyway they may not ask abt it at all,or may be if asked..so some words could be ample..like my husband or wife is working in(xxx) since(xxx) his job discription is (xxx) thats it,and this is my own opinion hope other fellows could help u more with reviews

At consulate stage they hardly ask for job letter BUT it is most likely that might ask your wife what you work as, since that is one of the basic interview question. Be truthful when this question is asked to your wife and she can also add that you are looking for a new job asap.

NVC covers up the financial aspect of CR-1 visa, so consulate doesn't really deal with any additional paperwork, that's why no need of a job letter at the time of interview.
