Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Now that one party has full control it's inevitable.

I used to say that about one party in particular, but I am thinking you are right. Put them all in the same boat with lawyers, used car salesmen, and horse traders. Then, sink it in shark infested waters.

Reminds me of another old joke: How come sharks won't bite lawyers?

agreed.

i was telling a family member that she should run for office because she is super smart, involved in the community, well-intentioned, successful, and tough as nails.

then i remembered that intelligence, good intentions, and actually paying your taxes are not good for a career in politics.
