We are mailing our packet (I-130 and I-485) tomorrow and i wonder if this is enough.

We are both students in our early twenties so we don't have much.

Proof of Bona Fide Marriage:

o A copy of our Joint Apartment Lease Agreement

o Copies of our Joint Chase Credit Card Statements

o Copies of phone bill showing how long and often we keep in touch

o Copies of some of the airline tickets

o Copies of some of our pictures we have taken together

Do you have a joint bank account, joint health insurance? Any joint memberships for gym, blockbuster etc?

You might want to send in some cards and/or mail sent to the same address. If you have driver licenses at the same address, you can send that too. Any joint untility bills? I think a lot of people send in wedding pictures (I didn't send any pictures and didn't get asked for any either).

I didn't send in a lot of items with my application and was fine, but I think more is better. If you don't have a joint bank account, you may want to get one, in case they ask for more evidence.

We both work part time and our health insurance companies only add spouses only if the employee works full time.

Our driver's licenses have old separate addresses and not our current one.

We have an account with BOA but we haven't got our statement yet we wanted to put in the paperwork as soon as possible.

Utility bills, yes, but the bill comes in only one name although both of us are on the account.

How are you covering the I-864?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I don't understand what u mean exactly. my husband filled it in and he makes enough money

so we didn't need a co-sponsor.

You didn't it have in your list of things sending in.

Or the G-325a's...

Oh sorry. I must have thought that when someone says I-485 packet, everyone understands what's included.

But we included [i-864, I-765, G-325 etc]

I never assume. :)

What is standard for one person maybe something entirely different for someone else.

It's my understanding that proof of co-mingling of finances is all that is needed, or the other items they list in the i-485 instructions. I had a very difficult time today adding my wife to my bank account. If it wasn't for the vaccination record having our address listed with her name, my bank would have turned us away. I'm not sure how people add their spouses to other bills with no social security number.

I wasn't able to add my husband to our account until after he had his actual green card, AND driver's license. I was only able to add him to one of our utility bills before the interview, and that was only as an authorized user and not a joint account holder. It was VERY hard to get anything in his name, or both our names, without him having an SS#.

As far as what we had in our original packet for bona fide marriage? A lease, with me as lessee and him as occupant, 3 affidavits from friends, some mail with our addresses on it showing we lived at the same address, an article written for the newspaper by the justice who married us, a copy of one of our wedding pictures, and that's about it. We brought more for our interview, but very little in the way of "comingled finances". We found that pretty much impossible without SS#. The IO's understand this kind of situation from what I can tell. We brought a lot of photos to our interview, and those went over well. :)
