possible joint sponsor

Hi guys,

I dont know where exactly to post this and i figured here, since im currently on the AOS process. Ok, so i got an RFE, i need a joint sponsor. We dont have any assets so my best bet is to get a joint sponsor. Now for my questions: I am in NY, can i have either my cousins in Chicago or San Francisco to be a joint sponsor or is it that one should be living with us or in the same household?

Pls clarify these things, i need to know. Thanks so much for your help.

If they are over 18, and USC's/lpr's - they can be sponsors.

A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident who is at least 18 years old,domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions,and willing to be held jointly liable with the petitioner for the support of the intending immigrant. A joint sponsor does not have to be related to the petitioning sponsor or the intending immigrant.
