It's all dependent on what is better for you guys.

The CR1(130) visa is a much easier visa in the way that you wont have to do AOS after you get to the US which means also that you can work right away.

The K3 will get you here a little faster (1-3 months quicker usually). But, if your consulate schedules immigrant(CR1) interviews at the same pace as K visas, then you might not really save any time. Most consuls schedule CR1's a month or two further out than K visa interviews.

The K3 means a quicker reunion, but more dealing with USCIS once you get here. Also paying $1010 to file AOS.

The CR1 takes a bit longer but you will have work authorization and a greencard right away.

As far as fees, I think the CR1 ends up costing about 450 less than the K3.

So, it all depends on your priorities....

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
