well we are starting to get worried, i did not know about that this type of forum existed so when i completed the forums (the I129F and the 325) I had her sign them, scan them, then email them to me so i could print them to submit with the application.... she found this video
and it has us worried that we did not do this correctly. We have been waiting ~6 months already and are not sure what the best course of action is. Hind sight is always 20/20...:(

Sorry. I don't have time to watch the video right now.

A lot of documents submitted with the I-129F can be copies, though originals will be needed for many of them at the consulate stage. However, ANY document that either you or her have to sign MUST BE the original. Scans of the G-325A can't be submitted.

Is it too late to get the original from her and revise your petition?

no, i could have her send them over today...should she just send them directly to the USCIS office in VT? I think i may call them to find out

I think she should send them to you. I'm not sure USCIS would accept the documents from her. She's not petitioning for approval to submit a visa application - you are. When it gets to the consulate stage, then she will be applying for the visa, so she'll be able to deal directly with the consulate.

Well, I called the USCIS today, they told me to just wait and see what happens with the 325 form that does not have her actual signature on it, just a printed/scanned copy. The lady told me that if there is a problem that they will let me know and i can send the proper documents. Maria is going to send me the forms she signed along with a copy of her birth cert. and a copy of her passport and a 'letter of intent'..... so if the USCIS requires them I will have them here with me and i can just send them along to the VSC.

Yeah all forms should be original and not copy, make sure you sent a lot of pictures, tickets, phone call receipts, emails, chats and anything you have....as for her computer, well if the problem is bcos of the ip tell her to find some free software in internet that hides IP to give it a try :)

P.S. but if they need something they will request it from you

She also still cannot access this site :( still the same error messsages....

Did you contact a site admin or moderator? There's no guarantee they are reading these threads, and only someone with administrative access will be able to unblock her IP.

She could also try to use a proxy server, but there's a good chance most proxies are already being blocked since spammers use them a lot.

Maria is going to send me the forms she signed along with a copy of her birth cert. and a copy of her passport and a 'letter of intent'..... so if the USCIS requires them I will have them here with me and i can just send them along to the VSC.

Her birth cerificate and passport will not be required by USCIS. They will be required at the embassy or consulate in the foreign country. She doesn't need to send these to you.

The letters of intent are specifically requested in the I-129F instructions:

Provide original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his or her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent;

You should have sent these with the original petition, usually one letter for each of you. Your signatures should be notarized, and you should send the originals of each document. In most cases you have to repeat this, and provide two new letters at the consulate stage to prove that you both still intend to wed.

do they have to be notarized? i can have her send a letter of intent tomorrow but does she need to find a way to have it notarized?

Fiance(e) letters of intent do not need to be notarized for the petition stage.

You do not need to submit evidence of ongoing relationship with the petition (Skype logs, tons of pictures, etc). This comes at the embassy stage. You ONLY need to provide evidence of having met in person (passport stamps or boarding passes showing common time in the same country, receipts showing expenses while visiting in the same country, etc. Photos are only supporting evidence, and insufficient alone).

If and when they send you a request for original signed documents from your fiancee, then send what they ask for. No need to flood them with superfluous information at this stage. IF you feel as though you have missed some other requirement (primary evidence of having met in person, for example) then you can TRY sending it with an RFE not requesting that information, but I am not sure how well that will work. It is not unheard of to get two separate RFEs for two different things. It seems pretty definite that sending extra things in without an RFE generally results in those things being lost, so just hang on until you get a request from VSC.

Good luck and smooth sailing on the rest of your journey, now that you've found VJ, I'm sure like most of us, you'll feel a lot more prepared and informed!

Another curious observation i made today.... i was reading through some information on here and learned about when your file is 'touched' it could mean it has just been moved from one place to another, or it could mean that it has been processed, anyway, our case has not been 'touched' since Jan 14..... every time i log on to their website to check our case it always has looked the same. Ever since Jan 14, is this normal? shouldn't it have at least moved from one sort of bulk storage to a different closer to being processed location as it gets nearer to being processed? According to the time line on this site we should have heard something between April 24 and may 14....and here it is the 19th and we still have not heard anything and the case status still looks the same on the USCIS site...any info would be a great help!!
