OK no text today but I just rang up the DOS to see if my case had been completely "approved". Well the person on the other end was being really ambiguous about it, saying "Well the Visa has not been printed yet". So I asked "Well does that mean it has been approved", the reply I got then was "I can't say any more than that except the Visa has not been printed".

Why are they being so secretive about it?

Anyone had a similar experience to this?

Well, DOS has told me previously that they cannot tell me dates for anything when I called before asking about the date my fiance's medical had been entered into the system. And we also asked whether they were just waiting on his passport and that's all in order to print the visa, and DOS told us "the embassy is still working on your visa, that is all we can say". Others have reported that DOS says the visa is under administrative processing without meaning the actual AP for those who have been approved pending documents. So DOS is being quite ambiguous lately, don't know why. I called DOS today to see what they have to say when I tell them that the embassy has received my fiance's passport, and I asked whether I should contact the embassy or DOS in regards to progress on the visa printing, and the lady informed me that I should call DOS regarding updates on the visa processing...which is interesting because last time I called just to see what they would have to say, the guy told me that I should be contacting the embassy not DOS regarding progress on my fiance's visa processing because my fiance's case is in progress at the embassy, not in Washington or wherever they send them for AP...

I will be calling DOS frequently next week regarding the printing of my fiance's visa, but I think in your case it is best to call the "extortion line" at the embassy (if you don't hear anything back from DOS or SMS by Tuesday) and ask for the email code and email the embassy asking about the exact status of your visa, whether it has been printed yet or not.

DOS do not have up to the minute information, and they have very basic information available to them thats why they can't tell you what exactly is happening. i rang them and they said I was in AP, i'm not it just means they are waiting on documents. yOU just have to wait and see. I am getting this birth cert. this week and then i'm sending off the passport and documents off next week. I dont get excited until it happens however.

yeah prima and jay, I totally agree with you, until my fiance gets the visa IN HIS HAND, I am not going to let myself get excited (although I can't help feeling relieved that we are ALMOST there...).

thanks prima and jay...

Well this might be a stupid question, but when tracking the passport back from the embassy via SMS, what post code does one enter online along with the tracking #? Is it the embassy's post code or is it your own post code?

thanks in advance!

Finally the wait is over!

Time seems to inch by very slllllllllowwwwwwwwwwlllllllllyyyyy for us as we wait for our good news that the visa is on its way.I will be emailing the embassy by Friday of this week if we don't hear anything till then. DOS tells us its under admin processing (the kind of processing prior to printing a visa...don't really know what they mean when they say this). But we'll see how long they keep us hanging...

oh quick question:

The embassy prints the visa the same day that you get the text from SMS saying the delivery is on its way?

That seems to be the case, fingers crossed MARM you'll get your text sometime this week, give it two to three days at minimum from the time the Embassy received it and see what happens.

Well, at least we have confirmation today by DOS that the embassy acknowledged my fiance's passport, although DOS won't give me a date on whether that was yesterday that they acknowledge it or today that they acknowledged it...really hoping that we get the visa in hand by Thurs/Fri of this week.

Just something I took note of with the most recent approved pending additional docs cases from London: (tomaran and JimandChristy) . From the point when the embassy acknowledges that they have received the documents/passport, the visa is printed 3 days afterward, delivered on the 4th day from embassy acknowledgment. This of course may not hold true for all recent approved pending additional docs from London, but at least it makes some sense and gives me comfort that my fiance can hopefully get his visa in hand by this Friday. And I called DOS again today (of course) to find out whether they had printed my fiance's visa yet or not, and I guess they had someone new to answer the phone because she gave me the date that the embassy acknowledged my fiance's passport in their system (and many times before when I asked about dates when calling DOS, they always told me they can't tell me exact dates...) which is June 15(Mon), so we have high hopes that my fiance gets his visa in hand by this Friday.

Prima and jay: did you receive the bc from the co-sponsor yet?
