There are no words to describe the frustration and the worry and the feeling of "whats wrong with us?" our stuff isnt that complicated, we sent in his subject access, they acknowledged it on Nov 23rd and its not like it was a mega charge on it, it was a tire slashing/criminal damage with a 50pound fine for crying out loud.........damn those consulate people need to hurry the F%$ up!

We're all home and together now. All safe travels here. After 11 1/2 months we're finally together and will be married in two weeks!!!!! Congrats to all the rest of you. It seems that we were all in the same stack, waiting in London, as we all got our txts on the same day. So, safe travels to all and good luck in your future endeavors!

  • 3 months later...

Guess we're in this group...

Interview March 10th, approved. Nobody prompted him to pay for the visa, so called the embassy and they directed him to print off a page to authorize payment. He sent it and the mail confirmed its delivery on March 25th...

DOS says we're in AP and London hasn't acknowledged that they got it...so I don't know what to think. I believe I had read somewhere that it can take 10-15 business days. Anyone else, did London acknowledge that they got the documents via DOS before they got the visa? All they say is that we're in AP...

I really flipping hate how ambiguous DOS can be...

Yesterday on the advice of a member to ask for the last 3 status updates and to ask them to look on the "second page" or "scroll down" if necessary and all the person would say was that we were in AP and that there was nothing else in the file. Couldn't tell me anything else.

Today I called and they said that on March 17th, the beneficiary was notified that payment was required. Also that it was in just regular processing. FFS! I can't believe they jerk people around like that

On the flip side, it is still a relief to hear that it's not in a black hole. I'm still a bit worried that London hasn't logged that they got it yet though...

Gosh how I agree!! I'm surprised they didn't tell you off for calling two days in a row...and that at least one of them actually gave you an answer. The last time I called and asked all she would do was tell me that it was in AP as of March...much use that is :(

Have they told you off for calling every day? When we were in the consulate-p3-interview stage, I called every single day and nobody complained...in fact when I called on Friday, I actually called twice because I had forgotten to ask something and they didn't say anything about it...

Have you had your fiance try contacting their congressman? I'm going to wait the 15 business days thing, contact the embassy again, and if no sufficient answers, then I'll contact my senators.

They did indeed, not only that but she ended the conversation, so now I only call them once a week. It's always very short, not even two minutes, and they'll not even tell me the last three status thingies or scroll down, only ever 'you're in AP, it's normal, you'll hear from the embassy' etc etc.

My husband did in fact contact his congressman well over a fortnight ago, but we've not heard from them yet. Tomorrow it'll be six weeks since my interview :(

That flipping sucks, I'm so sorry!

On my end, I guess it's good news for me telling me that we're definitely not in the black-hole type AP because wouldn't they tell me off too?

Your husband has two senators, have you tried contacting the other one too? :(

Thanks, hope you hear from them soon!

I really have no idea: the email I was sent said 'mandatory AP' which means name checks in Washington, but when I call the DOS, apart from the first time, they seem to infer that it's not that and the other, black-hole AP...and I already have an email from the embassy confirming that all documentation is complete so it's not that. It seems there's quite a few APs!!

I've just come off the phone to the DOS...a very sweet, helpful lady that was only able to tell me that the last time my case was looked at was 'the end of March'. She wouldn't confirm or deny that it was name checks they were waiting for. Six weeks. I wish I had some idea what the real issue was :(

As it's 'only' been six weeks, is it not early to be contacting senators? On paper at least, my husband's congressman looks like he'd be more sympathetic than his senators would...then again nothing ventured, nothing gained?? I don't know...
