I-864: affidavit of support income guidelines

I just want to double check that I am all clear to be the only sponsor for the AOS affidavit section.

It says for a household size of 2, the 125% guideline is $18,213. i make over 26k. Am i in the clear? we rent an apartment and i own my car...so i dont really think of these as assests. no bonds or CDs....

am i okay with just sending my pay stubs and last 3 years of tax returns/w-2s to clear us?

when we did the i-134 affidavit, i used my dad as a co-sponsor just in case...but now that i'v moved out and got married....i was hoping i could just do this on my own.

Yup....looks gud.....i m assuming u dont have any kids....so for a family of 2,it is more than whats required...just throw in an employment letter too with ur paystubs and returns.

I agree. The employment letter is kind of icing on the AOS cake. I sent in two years tax transcripts, current year W-2 (this was well before April 15, so we had not filed yet), six months pay stubs (we get paid once a month, so for me it was only six pay stubs), and the employment letter. Our case was complete on 5/5/09.

I agree. The employment letter is kind of icing on the AOS cake. I sent in two years tax transcripts, current year W-2 (this was well before April 15, so we had not filed yet), six months pay stubs (we get paid once a month, so for me it was only six pay stubs), and the employment letter. Our case was complete on 5/5/09.

anyone have an example employment letter?? or can i use pretty much the same employment letter as i used with the i-134 affidavit (stating date i started, my current full time status, my future with the company is excellent, i make this much money a year....)

You can use the same employer letter if it's fairly recent. I did. It almost sounds like you intend to write it. Your employer needs to write it on company letterhead. Does your adjusted gross income on 2008 show over the $18k guideline? If not, then make sure you overload them with evidence that your current income is now $26k. 6 pay stubs and an employment letter will be good. You only have to submit your most recent tax return and previous if they "help your case." If you had really low income or none in 2006, then that's not really helping your case so look at the picture you're presenting to them. Send them everything that's positive to make yourself look favorable and skip extra things that don't look good. Does that make sense? It's like if somebody would give you a discount for showing an A report card. Show the A card that's required, but don't send the semester two years ago where you failed two courses.
