We finally got all of our vegetables in for the year. We have green tomatoes coming, and flowers on the peppers and eggplant. The pear trees are really loaded though, so we should have a good pear crop if I beat the birds to them. Everything is doing fine so far although one of the cucumbers looks like something is nibbling on the leaves so it gets insecticide treatment tomorrow (Seven dust).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

The weather has been less then perfect here for weeks now. Chilly, rainy, alittle sun, then back to the chilly ect. Things are growing better in the garden, but will be quite awhile before we get any veggies.

Strawberries are doing well tho

We finally got some plants in last weekend and this weekend.

I've got one box as a herb garden with dill, sage, parsley, cilantro, basil, oregano, mint, and stevia.

Plus we got 3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of cucumber, yellow squash, zucchini, watermelon, straweberries, jalapenos, sweet peppers, blueberries, blackberries, and 2 types of eggplant.

We have 2 more boxes to plant in too, but didn't get those done yet. Will maybe put in some peas and beans.

Wife wanted some dirt, paid $5.88 that was $6.20 with tax for one cubit foot, that's $167.40 per cubit yard. If I were to lay 4" of that dirt on my yard, the bill would have come to $30,008.00! Can't use that dirt cheap term anymore, don't know what term to use.

For as long as I can remember, prided myself with a Kentucky blue grass lawn, we a lost most of it last year, so I had to tilt and replant with more Kentucky blue grass. That was a mistake because of our severe winter this year, again, lost most of that. So after all that work went to a Canadian blend, what the hell, it's green. So waiting for it to grow so I can cut it, but taking it's time, isn't it June? So why in the hell is my furnace running? Could be because we had a frost last week.

I am really trying to take global warming seriously, last summer we never hit 90*F where 105*F is suppose to be normal. See many bare fields for corn crop this year, planting is running more than a month late due to cold and wet conditions. But the plants inside of our home are doing fine, ha, my wife made a jungle out of this place, wonder if some of those Venezuelan plants will eat me.

Good looking apples you got there! Ours look pretty abnormal, like there are 3 apples in one spot. What kind of apples did you have?
