Hi,

Anyone received their NOA2 notice recently? I am petitioning my fiancee from China. My NOA1 notification date is May 5, 2009. Can someone who just got their NOA2 tell me the NOA2 notification date and NOA1 notification date so I can know how long I have to wait? I really hope things can move fast.

Thanks!

Thanks. But the problem is I am not sure if that's reliable. Look at this:

2 Paul and Sheila 2009-02-14 2009-02-18 2009-05-04

i-129f sent on 2009-02-14 and NOA1 received 2009-02-18? That's only 4 days! How could that be possible? It take 4 days for the i-129f to get to the process center. I sent in my i-129f on 2009-04-20 and received my NOA1 2009-05-09. That's 19 days!

Are things much slower now? Or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Derek

Never doubt the VJ timeline, this is the best it can get.... if you used a check you can look behind it and get the receipt number, then you can use that number on USCIS.org to check the progress.

Thanks. What does August 12, 2008 - Touched mean?

I was hoping things are moving faster now. Looking at some of the statistics on this site. Many people got NOA2 within 2 months. Not sure how reliable the data is though. 3-4 months is such a long time....

Maybe this should be a separate discussion, but how is this even possible:

NOA1 received 2009-04-17 and NOA2 2009-04-27? 10 days? I just find it hard to believe. I wish I were that lucky though.

I believe that particular one was an expedite because he was being deployed......

The timelines you're looking at were filled in by people and are therefore imperfect. People can and do make mistakes when entering there dates also couples with special situations can get expedites, deployment is the only one I've heard of so far. Generally speak at the CSC you can expect to wait 3 months, as of today it's averaging 82 days.

IMO you should look up Candle for Love and spend some time reading. And there are tons of exceptions and often times difficult to actually find the norm.

But you should feel fortunate that you are going through CSC, since they are running about a month ahead of VSC.

I am at 114 days and counting. On July 2007, the fee for filing a K-1 went from $170 to $455. The reasoning I often see was to streamline the process and hire more personnel.

My friend filed at VSC in July 2007 and it took his 127 days with no RFE, so I am not quite understanding the fee increase at this point.......since in July 07 VSC and CSC were swamped with petitions to file at $170.

Anyway, CFL is directed towards Chinese loved ones, so I look more at their timelines. The whole process from NOA1 to her visa ranges from 230 to 340 days without putting my engineering degree skills at work to actually get the true mean. But it gives you a ballpark and RFEs, customs, time to submit, etc. adds a lot of unknown variables.

Each case is unique. Some are expedited, but have to meet criteria. Now that the I-129F is out of your hands, really take some time to research and study, if you have not already. And to be frank, judging from your questions, you need some time doing a lot more research.

Since you and your fiancee are doing all of this for a few short minutes in front of a VO.....

Good luck.......to us all!

9/21/2007 Met Mei online

4/07/2008 First trip to China. SAT to HKG

4/21/2008 Hear Mei's voice for first time in taxi to meet her Shenzhen

6/02/2008 Buy diamond ring for Mei.

6/03/2008 Great Wall of China at Badaling - Proposed to Mei -- YES :)

6/12/2008 Mei's sister to Hong Kong. Leave Hong Kong for San Antonio.

10/16/2008 My friend Howard to China. Mei meet in Zhengzhou. Gifts...

12/30/2008 Mei's birthday. Parents see her 1st time on webcam.

1/16/2009 Mailed in I-129F to VSC.

1/18/2009 Second trip to China to Guangzhou to spend CNY with Mei and her family.

1/21/2009 Received NOA1.

1/26/2008 Touched

1/26/2009 CNY with Mei and family. Go to Yingde 1/27/09.

1/29/2009 Engagement dinner party with Mei's peers and HS classmates. Awesome!!!

2/02/2009 Consulate for ACH. Lost time slot for replacement Passport with ACS.

2/03/2009 Guangzhou PSB and another local police report for exit visa - 5 PM.

2/04/2009 Breakfast with Mei and her mother. Leave China for Texas - 7 AM. Missing her already... 8 AM

5/08/2009 Issued NOA2......Progress at last :)

Yeah. After all the reading, I think 3 to 4 months is the normal wait time. Thanks!

Thanks for the info Kate and Matt. 82 days is not bad. It's a lot better than 4 months! I never did think how slow this is until it happened to me.

Yong why don't you set up your timeline?

I will once I figure out how to enter them. Thanks.

Both of the service centers have slowed down a bit for when you are looking at timelines. We got our NOA1 in like 3 days (he lives in CA so the mail was quick) but the people who filed in April ran into colliding with the timeframe that USCIS has for the H1B visas, which take priority over us, so their NOA1's took about 2 weeks to get to them. People who filed in February were about 64ish days from NOA1-NOA2, then because of the same deadline, not one of the March group regular filers has been approved yet. The only person who was got through on a military expedite, so was very fast. The hard part with the timelines is things can change very quickly and while it gives you a good timeframe its pretty inaccurate when something like this deadline happens. Our timeline orignally said we should have our NOA2 at the beginning of May, now its saying we should have it in July...I'm still hoping it will come maybe the end of May/beginning of June, but its hard to say. Seems about 4 months is the standard at the moment if you dont get stuck in AP or with an RFE.
