So for those of you (like me) who didn't know about the existence of the I-865 and had her hubby file it along with the I-751 pretending like it was the most normal thing in the world ... we got the NOA for the I-865 today saying that the address was updated. No sign of a fee or a slap on the wrist or anything. Thank goodness.

Thanks for the very good advice, Immigrant2009!

However, it would really have been nice if I had gotten my NOA as well.

Hi mozplay,

I am glad I was able to help you :). I told you based on what i have seen and experienced with USCIS. Also just to give you heads up, you might not get NOA for I-751 quickly, i mean what i am seeing here on VJ that people who applied at CSC have waited 30 days and still didn't get any NOA. The reason can be they are swamped with application and also due to lay offs of workers due to bad economy of CA.

If you don't get NOA for I-751 in the next 30-45 days. Make an infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp on your passport which is equivalent to 1 Yr temporary GC. Looks like your GC expires in July so I-551 or NOA will give you extension till July 2010 ( Add 1 year to the date your GC expires).

Good Luck Again
