Showing proof of residency in foreign country

What documents can I show at the US embassy to show proof of residency in their country ( Philippines to be exact ).

i would check with your embassy, as each one has different "standards". Typically a residency card is required, but some embassies will overlook this if it takes longer than 6 months to obtain (as is the case in Denmark, so they accepted a copy of my house lease, airline ticket into Denmark, with no return, and children's school enrollment papers)

Residency visa. You need to show residency status that has been granted by the foreign government, like a work visa.

Also you will also need to show that you did not give up your US Domicile.

For Japan, they checked both the visa status (passport) and the foreigner registration card.
