Hello friends.

We were finally released from the NVC this week and I will be calling the embassy soon to inquire about our interview.

A have a few questions:

Anyone know about when interviews are being scheduled now? Mid to late June??

As I said, I am going to call to schedule our interview before waiting for the notice from the embassy. I believe the embassy will soon send my fiancee an email stating that we can now schedue an interview and a link to their web site with the forms needed and other information.

And then after I call to schedule the interiew, another email will be sent to my fiancee confirming the interview date, correct?

One more question about the medical exam. On the first day, does it matter what time you show up? I saw someone suggesting arriving after noon on the first day. Is that a good idea?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I meant to post this in the Philippines section - can someone move it please

As long as you had the case number which starts at MNLXXXXXXXXXX.

And then after I call to schedule the interiew, another email will be sent to my fiancee confirming the interview date, correct?

Yes a confirmation email from the call center.

One more question about the medical exam. On the first day, does it matter what time you show up? I saw someone suggesting arriving after noon on the first day. Is that a good idea?

Yes it is. Most people come in the morning and by noon there are only few people. It is a first come first serve.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

She will not get an email but rather a mail message.

Hi. We also got stuck at the NVC. I dont think you or your fiance will get an email telling you that you can now schedule your interview. Its up to you or your fiancee to call the embassy or the call center to confirm if your papers are with them and if you are now eligible to schedule your interview.

My Guess-timate is that if you call this week your schedule would be between 2nd-3rd week of June....they usually give a lead time of 1 month. We called them to schedule our interview on the first week of this month and we got a first week interview for next month. You can always call them to check if they have an earlier appointment if your fiance has finished her medical early.

After you schedule your interview via the call center, they will immediately send you or your fiancee (whatever email address you gave them) a CONFIRMATION email of your schedule as shown by pRetTy_aNgeL. I think this is the only time we ever got an email from the embassy.

Hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless.

Thanks a lot for the replies.

I am pretty sure though that they do inform the beneficiary that they can now schedule an interview. I do plan on calling before we get that however. They also include links to download the DS-156, DS-157, etc. and inform you about the medical exam requirements at St Luke's. You can view all that info on the Manila embassy web site. Its called the package 3 I believe.

Hi Matt & Bing,

You got out of NVC jail about the same time we did. I just called the 301-2000 number which I had understood one could call to schedule an interview. Such was not the case. Our MNL number is in the system at the Embassy so I'm going to try the 888 number in about 15 minutes when they open to see if they'll schedule it for me. When I called the 888 number a couple of days ago they said to wait two weeks. Ugh. I know it was someone reading from a script but it didn't make sense. I too, like most, haven't received any notification from NVC email or snail mail. Let us know how you do on scheduling your interview and I'll do the same. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate that as well. Best of luck to everyone on VJ!!

Best wishes,

Grace & Steven

According to the call center my case is not "eligible" to schedule an interview yet. When I asked what makes it eligible I was told after the consular officers check our paperwork from NVC. Call back in two weeks thank you very much. I will have my fiancee try from PH and I will call back in a couple of days to see if anything has changed. Good luck and God speed to all. The waiting in this process is pure torture but what else is there to do?

Best wishes,

Grace & Steven

Just call me frustrated! I've called all of the numbers posted here on Visa Journey. Everyone has been very helpful. The advice that seemed to make the most sense was to "keep calling" until I got an interview date. Well, that doesn't seem to be working so well. Our case was sent to the Embassy on May 11th--maybe arrived by the 16th or so. Everything I read is start calling after it's in the Embassy system, which it is, and an interview can be scheduled. The first couple of calls I was told to wait two weeks. Then just now I was told to wait four weeks and that my fiancee will receive notification from the US Embassy. I'm pretty sure the call center lady was only reading from her script when she said this. I guess what I'm asking now from the wonderful VJ'ers is if anyone has a better idea? I know patience is the by-word but when you get this far and we're so close patience is running thin these days. Any ideas thoughts suggestions would be appreciated. FYI I have all of the telephone numbers. *sigh*

Thanks Guys!

Best wishes & good luck!

Grace & Steven
