How will you use your asset on her sponsorship form to make up her shortfall?

Because after they are married it will become a jointly owned asset. What he is saying makes sense to me .. and I am sure the house value far exceeds the 3 x $8012 deficiency for the I-864

does it immediately become jointly owned? doesn't that depend on the state they reside in? if it does, then they are ok aren't they?

I don't know much about houses but maybe he has to add her to the deed or something?

YMMV

Well it makes sense doesnt it?

Once they are married he adds her to the deed and hence it becomes an asset jointly owned by the both of them.

Like I said..we don't have a co sponser. I assumed after we marry-his assets would also be mine. So the house would be "our asset". I could be wrong. He is going back to Belgium to work. Maybe he can deposit his money into an American bank and use that as well. He is going to try the naturalizing and in Belguim..that would mean he would have citizenship in Belgium and the U..S without needing a sponser...atleast someone on another forum said this.

I don't understand what you mean by this...?

re: co sponsor.. don't you have a family member you could ask? a parent? a sibling?

Just forget the naturalization process. It won't make a difference. I thought it would but it takes forever anyways. I was told by someone else that the I-864 would have a place for assets and income..so both can go on it. I don't have a co-sponser. Oh well..we will hope for the best as far as the I-864 form goes.

He has to obtain an immigrant visa and immigrate to the US first before he can apply for naturalization. It's not something he is eligible for at this stage
