April 09 Filers Out There?

Hi People,

I would love to know if anyone out there who has filed an I-130 in April has received an NOA1 yet??? We filed on April 16 but haven't heard yet. My Wife will be contacting the USCIS in the morning as she has a high risk pregnancy and we are trying to expedite.

Can anyone tell me if there will be a fee for expediting and how much faster the process is likely to be? She's due at the beginning of October.

Also, the Dr has now told her she cannot work or she is likely to lose the baby. Will her not working/earning $$$ make her ineligible to sponsor me even if we have a Doctors letter stating a life or death situation?

hey let me know if they approve your expedite cause they declined mines and i ended up losing the baby and then i showed them proof the my baby only lasted one week they still declined it then thry transferred it to csc office and said wait 6 months and i been waiting now 8 months and still havent heard nothing

Sorry to hear that. That's horrible. What was the reason for denying you?

Sometimes I think immigration services' officers don't have

I wonder how they can do this to ppl? If it's a regular couple, whatever... but a family that is expecting a baby???

How they can play with ppl's happiness? Do they do it on purpose, to see ppl upset and miserable, or what?

Well I filed mine April 20th and I have no NOA1 either. I tried calling and they won't help unless its 30 days. I tried calling and explaining my situation but no the operator was just telling me to wait. I also need a expedite as well but I can't get it until I get the recepit number. My expedite will be military though because I'm deploying soon.

They were telling me the same thing. I needed to change my address but couldn't because I didn't have the receipt number and probably wouldn't receive one either since only my mail with my maiden name was forwarded.

I just called and told them that I know my check ws cashed and then gave them the date. I told them that the packet should already be at CSC. Since they don't like to change addresses over the phone, they put me on hold to see if they could send me to the next level of "customer service". After I was transfered, I was told when my packet arrived at chicago lockbox, when it arrived at CSC, when the petition began being processed, when the NOA1 letter was mailed, and when the check was cashed. I was also given the receipt number and told to log on online to change my address myself.

When you call you have to force in the information that you are being deployed soon and need to expedite but can't because you haven't received your receipt number yet and you know your check has been cashed (if it has been). They should help you if you are polite but firm with them about it. They are on autobot pilot reading from that script. You have to break in and get them to realize there is a sense of urgency.
