Santa Ana - Local office for AOS

Hi

Well, for the specifics of a biometrics in Santa Ana, Ca.

My letter stated time of 8 am for the appointment. Having found the adress using Multiquest I knew roughly where it was. Had to set off early because of rush hour, but because I only had 10 miles to travel I knew I should be ok.

I had a little difficulty finding it when I got to there as I was looking on the wrong side of the road :o , however, once I tracked it down everything was fine.

I parked in the 99c store car park because the USICs offce was next to a bank and I thought the parking lot was for them. Turns out, there was parking though. Anyway, I approached from the front of the building and was faced with a locked door even though it said office hours were 8 - 5 and I was about five minutes late. Anyway, someone opened the front doors and I found out that about 30 people were already waiting having entered from the car park through the back entrance. Why is it that these buildings are so unassuming?

I had my 7 year old son with me, so I had two sets of forms to fill in. Yes, they do ask on the form for height and weight, but I don't think they worry too much about accuracy because I couldn't remember my sons height and guessed. Once the forms were filled it was line up and get the appointment letter stamped and be issued a number. The wait was minimal and the guys in Santa Ana are very nice.

I asked the person who was taking my prints why some people were harder to get than others and he said it's because chemicals or hard labour can wear them off! Anyway, mine were easy to read and he commented on a deep scar on my thumb. Must have cut it chopping onions.

They took one print from my son's index finger which he said goes on the card. They were really nice about taking his picture. They asked if he liked it, he said no and they took it again, twice! Actually, they asked everyone if they were happy with their picture andd took them again if you weren't. My son didn't like my first picture and he took it again too.

I asked how many people they process a day, and he said on a busy day as many as 30 per hour, but on a slow day around 6 or 7. Today was a slow day. We got a card to fill in to ask how well they had performed and if there was anything else we would like to see in the office.

He also said they don't take finger prints of children younger than five. A woman in front of me had a toddler and they warned her if he didn't behave well, the supervisor might turn them away. Luckily, she got a nice lady technician who was kid friendly and she got seen ok.

So, another part of the process done. Now more waiting!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
