how much is the fee for EAD?

I understand the fee for AOS is $1010. Does this include the EAD (I-765) or should I pay a separate amount for employment authorization? Can't believe AOS is way expensive huh. If my presumption is correct, will there going to have problem if I apply first the EAD?

The fee includes both EAD and AP (Advanced parole) . EAD & AP are free if you file for them WITH AOS.

Apply for it BEFORE AOS it will cost $340. (You will also pay the $1010 for AOS)

You can only apply for it before your 90 days is up after entry into the United States and it is only good until the end of the 90 days when your I-94 expires. So it is best to wait until you file your AOS and do it all at once.

That is not true at all. The EAD stamp may be valid only until your I-94 expires but the EAD card is valid (I assume) up until you receive your greencard. It would be ridiculous for USCIS to not allow the wife/husband of a USC the right to work until they receive there greencard (that could take 6 or more months).

Can someone confirm this? My AOS was sent after my I94 expired and I applied for EAD & AP. Now I cam confused lol.

No the EAD is only valid for ONE year at a time. Prior to the year, 90 days before it expires you can apply for a RENEWAL card. And as long as you have the notice of receipt for the AOS you can get the renewal for free as well.

You can apply for EAD first and pay $340 but practically, it is best to apply it with AOS ($1010). EAD is included while applying for adjust status.

The EAD card is valid for about one year after you have your biometrics, not from the date of issue.
