How many feet above sea level is your home?

I live 52 feet above sea level. This is in Middlesex County, NJ.

How to find out

Go to http://maps.live.com. Type in your (or your neighbors) street address at the box at the top. Hit enter.

In the map, click 3D. You may need to install a plugin (I used Firefox, I don't know how it works in IE).

Once done, hover your cursor over your home. Your elevation will be to your right.

About 70 ft. There is a datum monument not too far away, and I read that off a topo map. When the Russian River crested at 48 ft in 1995, I still was at least 20 ft above the water. I am good until 2249

47 feet. But that makes no difference really, as the local authority here is opting out of paying for essential drainage work, which will eventually cause the whole area to sink into a morass and float away.
