I have copy of PCC,or I can even get a new one in 15 days, but I will call NVC and embassy after I will get assigned interview date.Basically operaters @ NVC cannot explain anything, they just start reading from the NVC website ,that from where I need PCC,which I can read myself, they cannot decide @ their own, whether I should get the new PCC or not, they have no idea.

I've also sent in the original police certificate to NVC. NVC sent me a RFE after they've misplaced it. I called them and told them that it would be very difficult for me to obtain another one, and that I have made an extra copy for myself. They told me just send in the copy. I've talked to 3 operators and they all told me to send in the copy and it's 110% okay. As long as the PCC was obtained within 1 year, it's perfectly fine to send in a copy.

AOA,

I have the same situation. I sent them original Police Certificates and now they send me CheckList Cover Letter email for "Missing Police certificate". Eventhough I have copies of the original certificate, I will just tell my wife to get new certificates for the interview. NVC operators does not know the details of the case and cause of missing police certificate. I do not want to take any chances so will get new ones.

Good Luck.

HI,

If I were you I would not get the police certificate now and wait till they assign your wife a interview date. At that time you will still have some time to make police certificate before the interview. I am sure if you send them now the police certificate then will ask you like they ask us to provide new police certificates.

There is a police certificate form. you should be able to get it from Karachi, Pakistan. You should have multiple police certificate if your wife has lived any place more than 6 months.

Good luck everyone.

I was told by the NVC operator that PCC is valid for one year no matter what it says on the PCC.. my husband's PCC from Lahore expires on the 16th, the day of his interview, and he hasn't lived in Lahore since 2006 so I am hoping that it would be fine. It was a hassle to get one from there, I dun think we can even try to get one now in 10 days. :-(

Karachitte: Looks like we have an interview on the same day.. what time is yours? My husband's interview is at 8:00am.. Is your spouse going to be there too?

So far, it's three of us VJ members scheudled for July 16th interview.. good luck everyone.. Lets hope for no AP and considering we are destined for one, lets hope for a short AP. :-)
