My husband and I decided to go ahead and send the corrected DS 230 form without waiting to get the RFE letter since we already know which questions are wrong. He already fixed the questions that needed to be fixed but now we're trying to sign in to the NVC website to print out the bar code and the system is down.

My question is, can I print out my own bar code using James' Shortcut and send the corrected DS 230 with that bar code?

05-01-2009: Sent DS-230 and Affidavit of Support (Overnight Delivery) Lawyer took his time to fill everything out and delayed our process.

05-11-2009: RFE thanks to the lawyer again and his assistant.

05-12-2009: RFE package sent to NVC

05-14-2009: NVC received RFE package

05-27-2009: Case finally complete!

If it were me, I would wait until you receive the RFE and then send the requested information back to them.

They send you instructions on how and where to send the requested documents, etc. and they want you to attach the cover letter with the information you return to them.

If you send anything without the cover letter, there's a very good chance it will never get matched up to your original package.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree. I am sure NVC deals with millions of pieces of mail per day. I wouldn't guarantee that your DS-230 will find it's way back to your file so make sure you have copies to send in if you get an official RFE

Thank you all. I just checked my email and NVC just emailed me the RFE with the cover letter so my husband will be sending the missing documents today
