Hi All,

I recently got an RFE for bona fide marriage documentation. My husband and I gave them our lease, life insurance, and some letters from the bank regarding our account at the interview. I guess they want more. So far this is what we are adding;

1. Copies of our debit cards.

2. Copies of our credit cards.

3. Copies of our Macy's cards.

4. Copies of our JC Pennys cards.

5. Netflix envelope showing our current address.

6. The most recent bank statement.

7. Copy of a voided check from our joint account.

8. Copy of our car insurance with both our names.

Do you guys think this is enough. Our interviewer did not want any pictures. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

do you have any greeting cards addressed to you both from family or friends? Maybe add an affidvit from friends or family indicating that you are married and living together

We don't have any of the above. I think we can get some affidavits. Just in case we don't, do you think what we have will suffice.

Life insurance, will, medical and I'd still send pictures.

We gave them our life insurance policy and lease with both our names already. I will try and get the affidavits. The rfe is due by the 24th, so I really don't want to cut things close.

Earliest as well as latest bank statement (shows history)

Joint car title

Photos of you guys being all relaxed

Tickets/stamps from your passport when you visited your spouses home country

Receipts for home type stuff you bought (maybe highlight bank statement)

Any logs with phone calls to each other

Chat logs

Drivers licenses showing same address (if they do that in your state)

All of those sound good. If I was you I'd add ANYTHING showing both your names. Include any communications you have documentation of. (text messages, emails, phone logs) Get the affidavits for sure. I'm not sure whether they helped us or not, but our IO mentioned them at our interview, so they certainly didn't hurt. We had 3. Get them notarized if you can.

I'm really surprised they said they didn't want pictures. Our IO was impressed with ours, and they have helped many people get through this part of the process.

Send as much as you can. If they don't want to look at it all, fine, but at least you'll never have to wonder if you should have sent more. Good luck! :)

I see two major things missing from your list - perhaps you already gave them these and didn't include them in your post -

1) Tax returns in both your names

2) Utility bills - water/gas/electric/phone etc.

Good Luck

We already gave them our tax returns (filed jointly). We really don't have any utility bills. We are staying with my uncle, and we pay him rent which also covers the utilities, so no bills. But we explained that to the IO.

I have tried to fill my timeline but it's not working for some reason. We were interviewed a second time almost a year after the first interview, and after the interview, we received this rfe. Our lawyer thinks what we have is enough. I'm gonna get an affidavit from my uncle who we are renting from. Thanks for all the suggestions.
