We were ready to go out the door yesterday and I had checked the mail. I ran back upstairs and we opened the letter together. Needless to say when we came to the word where it said approved I gave her a kiss and hug. :D It said we should be receiving the new card within 60 days.

My wife will be eligible for citizenship this Dec.

Thank you everyone :star:

This site was truly helpful. Actually before I decided to the paperwork myself I had a free consultation with an immigration lawyer downtown in the financial district. He had a nice office and looked the part but I left there saying no way is he going to handle this. I had called my wife in the Philippines and told her I was going to do it. The lawyer had brought out forms for the fiance visa and I had specifically told him this was for a spousal visa. He then started filling the forms with our information and said his handwriting is not good. I told him to STOP at that point. As far as what he quoted me it was $200-$300 more than what he said over the phone.
