I hate that clause pre-existing conditions. There should be regulation by the government to get rid of that clause.

That's why you lie. Seriously.

There are some pre-existing conditions that health care providers will flat out turn you down for. For instance, I know someone who was turned down for having migraines. That seems a little ridiculous, but it's true.

So I now lie to them. Besides, how can anyone have a "pre-existing condition?" I may have an "existing condition," but certainly not a "pre-existing" one. I know what the health care providers mean, of course, but I find my spin on it far more entertaining.

This strong clauses makes me want to file a massive million lawsuit against them whenever they make a mistake on me.

I suppose their reply might be: "No is forced to use our services and if they do, they need to abide by our regulations." In which case, they'd be legally correct. However, I tend to agree with you. The pre-existing conditions clause is insane (but financially sound) and only serves to hurt individuals.

Yeah, having a kid with a pre-existing condition cleaned me out, I know about that.

Hearing recently about a one payer health insurance system. Look at

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200...12/1929527.aspx

for some detail, a guy was on PBS radio yesterday kind of saying with have a pharmaceutic/health insurance run congress with an extremely strong lobby.

Insurance companies like 1,200 of them are nothing more than middlemen as parasites drastically increasing our medical bills and also determining what kind of care we can get is the strong argument against our present system.

As usual, I didn't catch the name of the guess speaker, but was one that was arrested for trying to get a seat before congress, said if anyone should be arrested, should be these pharmaceutic/health insurance lobbyist. I could also add many of our congressman.

But, but, but - it's FRENCH!

you and your stereotypes

That's easy. I'll take the American system with a side of fries please.

Ill get what hes having and can you super size that?

We have some pretty big issues with our health care system but I dont get why people think government is the solution, I know my government and I dont want them anywhere near my health care.

Who said government is the solution? Getting everyone insured is part of the solution. Providing public insurance for those who cannot afford private insurance is part of the solution. You need to step back away from the rhetoric if you want to understand the real issues.

We all know why Rockefellar and the Vanderbuilt was growing knocking down the competition. There was no anti-trust or monopoly laws. Competition lowers the prices of alot of things.

Thanks to government laws and regulations, that is not happening as often anymore.

Same thing with health care. Have them take the reigns, and off goes the premiums into the sky.

I still say that insuring everyone is capitalist. If less people are sick, more money is made by employers and employees. Employers can continue to run their businesses effectively and people earn enough to keep the economy going by purchasing useless ####### they don't really need.

It's certainly pragmatic to look at it just from an economic point of view. Unfortunately, pragmatism is not quality among ideologues.

Lets be real about it, to implement a sytem like Frances, in which you used the comparison it would give government alot of control over our health care system and heavily rely on the government to fix it with our tax dollars.

Government isn't a single-celled, giant blob. Do you even know how their health care system works? I encourage you to read the link I posted. I'm open to a wide variety of solutions, but the prevailing criteria is that we need everyone to be covered by medical insurance, whether that insurance is private, public or a combination of both. Rhetorical fearmongering of giant, single-celled blobs named 'government' just doesn't fly anymore.

Of course government isnt a single-celled blob, this whole issue is very complicated and we were only talking in general terms. You made a general comparison with France and I made general statement. You seem to want downplay the governments involvement if we were too implement a systems like Frances.
