To be frank not all Egyptians working at the embassy are rude , I have dealt with US embassy twice ,

I went with my wife to get the no objection statement , they were very nice to us and we were out in 10 minutes ,

at the interview , when i was called to the window first , the lady was smiling to us ( me and my wife ) and she was joking saying , ohh , you didn't wake up yet , she was very nice and professional , I assume they have this behavior because they have seen many young guys getting married to their grandmas for the visa.

what do you think if you are Egyptian working at the US embassy with Americans ,

and everyday Americans make jokes and statements about those guys getting married for visas ,

would you be very helpful ? you will be ashamed of being Egyptian ,

I'm not justifying , my visa is delayed for a reason ofcourse , i have many stamps in my passport , Syria,Jordan , UK AND AND . but we can never say all of them are rude , some of them are

I am personally offended by the grandma statement as i am 46 and my fiance is 29. we have been together since 2004 and i see people on here getting this process in less than a year knowing each other. how can they possibly even know this person that well and just jump in and say woohoo lets get married? I am very satisied that my relationship is stable and long termand i compare it to our prophet SAWS nd his first wife Khadijah and their diference in age so plz dont offend us "Grandmas" in your statements!! we communicate better than people i know have been married for 20 yrs so dont down us!!!

Congratulations on your fiance's approval :)(F) It is sad that Egyptians employees in the embassy are rude... I have read the replies on this topic and it makes me wonder, being a female and the beneficiary, if it bothers them that Egyptian men marry American ladies how bothering it is to them if it is the other way around? lol... I know it was a joke, but I am already starting to worry... The process is hard and long already....

I wouldn't worry about anything and with what others think. :star:I personally think it's none of the Egyptian ladies, that work in the Embassie's business, the ages or nationality of the Fiancees. They should look at the evidence presented, to determine the Bonafide's of the relationship.

It seemed this Egyptian girl didn't want to accept, that I knew a computer well enough to play an online game to have met him. That's bull.. I have played WoW for 3 years and I play my characters as well as many of the males. She kept questioning him about me playing and knowing a computer that well. That doesn't even make sense, since we all know she herself must know a computer to have her job.. or I hope she does.

Also, i'm not bashing any female Arab or w/e.. I'm only repeating his exp. at HIS interview. So, I don't see why anyone would get upset over that.

Of course it is their business. It is their freaking job to do a little bit of personal interpretation regarding the validity of petitioners' relationships. Why do you think the USEM employs them - for their health??? Ummmm no. They employ them because there might be something an Egyptian citizen might ascertain from an interviewee over what a CO might understand.

i guess some people think it's supposed to be a social visit, with tea and biscuits. God forbid there should be some scrutiny applied to the thing. unlu_kitap_karakterler2_pollyanna_01.jpg

 Yes, exactly! Because you know that when my fiance/DH went to the USEM at Buenos Aires they brought out the alfajores and mate for him...wanted to make him feel right at home. NOT!!!

Yes, Khadijah, but the sad part is that based on all the relationship fraud that goes on at the Cairo Embassy, you might be the exception and not the rule.

I am referring to their personal feelings about an Egyptian man with an American woman. I'm not stupid as you're trying to say I am and I don't appreciate it. End of discussion with you.

As usual.. I can see this is yet another thread for the smart asses to come out and say hurtful things and make others think they know it all. We're all in this together no matter our ages, religion, or nationality. Why do some have to come along and start ####### in a rather nice thread?

I have learned so much by reading threads like this and I appreciate it, but this is the end of my VJ days. I didn't join it to listen to what smart asses think about me, my relationship, or the help i'm trying to give others. For you know it alls.. you don't know ###### and you need clean to around you own front door before you try to clean around others.

To the guys who were friendly and truly helpful.. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

Yes, Khadijah, but the sad part is that based on all the relationship fraud that goes on at the Cairo Embassy, you might be the exception and not the rule.

not to mention the asinine prophet and khadijah comparison. good grief.

i love the automatic assumption that if an arab woman looks at these relationships critically, she's automatically some jealous harpy. most of the guys marrying foreign women wouldn't be marriage material to an arab woman in the first place because they can't put up an acceptable mahr. maybe, just maybe they have YOUR best interest at heart and are scrutinizing the relationship in the manner the embassy sees fit. you know, cause they see like thousands of cases...so maybe they have a little more insight in the whole thing? i would think it would be in americans' best interest that scammers be weeded out, by as many means as possible. but if fantasizing about arab women being jealous of american women feeds yr ego, go ahead and gorge.

So off topic but chemaatah...your little one is growing so fast!! She is sooooooooo precious and such a little beauty.

thank you tasha. yr little boy is getting cuter all the time too. i love his sweet eyes.

The grandma statement was rather rude, I admit. But it is against the norm that there are so many younger guys marrying older women. We can't be so blind that we believe that all of these relationships are based on love. This is why they have to question it. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that all of these relationships are fake. But we have to be realistic. And these CO's need to do their job. The best thing we can do is to be prepared to explain why the age difference isn't an issue as opposed to being offended that they question it.

I see it offends some that there have been a comparison between the prophet and his wife Khadija. I don't think there is any attempt to say that there are any other similarities other than the prophet himself fell in love with an older woman, and why would any of these young men these days think they "deserve" better than the prophet himself? Selecting a younger wife is more of a cultural thing than it is an Islamic thing IMO. I think that is the point that they are trying to convey.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

First i didn't mean to offend anybody and like I said i didn't mean to talk about anybody's case .

Second like Morroco4ever said , it is not the norm to marry older woman (despite I dont say it is bad , it is your own choice ) BUT FRANKLY ,especially for the ones that got married in Egypt , how many young guys were married to same age women in the ministry in Egypt and why?

- every case is different , one should accept the other the way he is , old young , pretty or no

BUT THE EMBASSY HAS TO ASSUME THE BAD INTENTIONS , THIS IS THEIR WORK , YOUR WORK IS TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE AN EXCEPTION.

-comparing ourselves to prophet will not be for our good because we will never be like him . he is a prophet , he is one of his kind , You are not KHADIJAH and your husband is not the prophet , sorry i dont mean anybody i'm just clearing my point . prophet Mohamed got married more than once for many reasons ( do you think your husband will ) No because he is not a prophet ,

AND SINCE IT IS NOT THE NORM TO MARRY OLDER PARTNER , WHY DO WE SEE IT MORE NOW ALMOST THE MAJORITY ,

I WOULD ACCEPT AN EXCEPTION

finally I DIDNT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYBODY I WAS JUST DISAGREEING WITH THE STATEMENT THAT EGYPTIANS AT THE EMBASSY ARE RUDE

C'mon guys :pop:

We are not here to judge each other relationship . cause in fact we really don't know so much about each other here to judge our relationship .

We are here to help each other to go through that journey to be with our loved .

Talking about there are so many young men get married to their grandmas for a visa .We can not say that all of them doing that for a visa cause some of them are really in love with those women .

and let me ask you question guys :-

can you make sure that all of the Egyptian men here who married to young women are really in love with them?!!!!! In fact no you can not make sure . cause some of them are just looking for a visa not for a real love or for a real relationship .

so i think it does not matter who you are ? where are you from ? how many age gap you have ? what is your religion ?.......as long as you love each others .

cause i have seen so many Egyptian men with young women just for the visa .

Good luck and my best wishes for you all

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .
