A some really great hair places....Kriss in Aswan Square, in Mohandeseen, there is also another Kriss in Heliopolis. Also, Ahmed & Abdou in Mohandessin and City stars or Jaque de sange Mohandiseen. Mohamed el Soghayar in the Grand Hyatt Hotal in Garden City (good and close my our apartment, but some of the others are better). Anyhow, have a wonderful time!!!

These are the top hairdressers in Egypt; they will cost her fortunes. Starting at at least $5OO on hair only if not more. There are so many places to get her hair done so nicely with way less than that unfortunately I don't have any info on me right now but without a doubt his sister will be taking care of it.

MashaAllah, I am very happy you. I look that the pic of this Gama and all I can say is SUB7ANALLAH!! I truly love weddings...wish I could be there. Weddings in Egypt are the best!!

I wanted to mention that HLM is correct, the places I mentioned can be quite pricey, but I nor anyone else I know who went there paid $500 getting just getting some hair done....anyhow, I guess I was thinking since it's a wedding, well why not some of the best places.

There are MANY cheaper places that can do great hair as well. One I really like that is very reasonably priced is Salon Emad in in Nasr City. I don't know the name of the street it's on, but it's by the Radio Shack there. Anyhow, again, I am sure HLM is correct...your hubby's sis will take care of you. No need to worry about a salon's (but they are so much fun!!).

Anyhow.......Alf Mabrook!!!!

Thank you. I think two women are coming from womeg but I'm not for sure on that because they had some specifications like separating the men's table from the women's table and I don't know if that's happening. I asked Waleed and he doesn't even know. And the other specification was no alcohol served. We don't even drink but we're going to the Greek Club afterwords and they serve wine and beer and some people like his parents won't even step into a place that serves alcohol.

Good luck to you girlfriend. I hope you take some time and relax while there

Thanks Sandrila! 5 days to go and our tentative schedule has already changed. Here are the updates. First the Greek Club things is canceled. Waleed didn't give a reason other than he just wants it to be the two of us. Second we have confirmed a driver who is a bit of a celebrity there in Cairo.

This is our new tentative schedule:

May 20th Wednesday - I arrive at the airport and get my temperature checked as they are screening for H1N1 virus. Airport Screening:- Currently in place at Cairo, Hurghada, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh and Taba airports. The benchmark temperature is 38 degrees - anyone showing a temperature above this, is taken to an isolation room at the airport and from there they are transported to the nearest isolation facility where swabs are taken. For airports outside Cairo - all swabs are flown to Cairo for testing. The isolation center for Cairo is as follows: Al-Matar Mental Health Hospital located in the Heliopolis district of Cairo which is the closest medical facility to Cairo International airport. I would be held there for 7 days.

If I don't go to quarantine then we head to his parents house for lunch in Al Zaytoon (Cairo) then we leave to Faisal (Cairo) where his Sisters house is and we go shopping for a wedding dress to rent as there are many in the area. Hopefully pick one out and start any alterations on the dress in time for May 23.

May 21st Thursday - Meet my new friends near Faisal (Cairo) and go shopping with them!

May 22nd Friday - Pick up the wedding dress.

May 23rd Saturday - Wedding celebration day at El Nour Mosque from 8-9 pm! There will also be cake and Pepsi and maybe chocolates.

His friend Adham from the band Wust El-Balad (it means downtown) has offered to be our driver with his own Honda car that day. Here is their website and a video to watch of their band: http://www.wustelbalad.com/Video/video.html

Adham is a celebrity there and is the one in the video in the white shirt on the video phone with the others at first. He also is the one at the end in the credits with his crutches or braces also in a white shirt.

Afterwords Waleed and I will go to a hotel for two days. We are not sure which one yet but he is looking around right now for affordable and nice honeymoon suite just for us. If anyone would like to make suggestions that would be good. He is hoping for around $60 USD a night with breakfast included.

May 24th - We are in the hotel

May 25th - We return the dress and go to Hurghada on the Red Sea for the summer. It is tradition there that after a wedding the bride and groom take a month honeymoon and stay in the apartment the whole time. Waleed doesn't start his job in Hurghada until July. We will go out of course and we are still looking for a one bedroom apartment in Hurghada with all the amenities.

May 20th Wednesday - I arrive and we go to Faisal and rest at his Sisters house going over the details.

May 21st Thursday - Meet my new friends in Cairo and go shopping with them!

May 22nd Friday - Rent the wedding dress. Meet the family (Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sisters) in Al Zaytoon and check on the details for the celebration with them.

May 23rd Saturday - Wedding celebration day! Take dress to Hair & Make-up place. Then go to wedding portrait place for pictures. Go to hall in the Al Nour Mosque (the light: http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%85%D9%84%...asjed_elnor.jpg). It is next to Waleed's old medical school at Ain Shams (the eye of the sun) University near Abbasya Square. Take pictures outside the Mosque first thing. Celebration in hall before sunset for one hour with video tape rolling.

This is where it's happening. It's so beautiful. :luv:

Ariel Map of location of Mosque and Waleed's old Medical School: http://wikimapia.org/8293367/ar/%D9%85%D8%...%B3%D9%8A%D8%A9

Afterwords we go check into a hotel to change and then we go back out to an old classy restaurant called the Greek Club or in arabic Alnadi Alyounani and we meet with friends there. Everyone pays for themselves.

May 24th Sunday - Return the dress and stay another night in the hotel.

May 25th Monday - Leave for Hurghada for the summer!

Cost Estimate:

Hair Make-up for bride: $50

Dress $150

Portraits $50

Hall with Video for one hour $80

Hotel for 2 nights: TBD as we're still looking for an affordable one.

Car to take us around will be provided by his sister's husband.

All the details are tentative but this is our plan. He just needs to make the reservations for everywhere. His sister was at the Mosque earlier when she called him asking him for what day so I guess everything is going ok and we are getting the simple quiet wedding we like after all. I'll let you know for sure when he sends me the note that he made the reservation.

If you have any recommendations on dress shops or hair and make up places to go to please let us know.

Also if you are in Cairo you may call him anytime please and let him know you are coming or if you have suggestions or would like to meet up with us. He will store your number in my phone he got me as well. He asked me who is coming on my side? I said I don't know but I will ask! It would be nice to have someone there for me since my family and friends in the US can not make it.

Awhhhh sounds so wonderful !!

Wished I could be there !! My best wishes to the both of you. (F)
