My my... Bravo and congrads. This gives my wife and I hope for a speedy approval. Everyone's I130s are getting approved very fast... Did you file for an expedite? Im going to send my I130 package for my wife this week and was looking for pointers. We married last month and hope to be in each other's arms by the end of this year. Please let me know your secrets :). Also did you send copies of everything for the USCIS and originals to the NVC? I am still debating on sending a copy of the marriage license/ and spanish to english translation because im worried they may never give it back. I opted to get two of them from the Colombian notary just in case this happens. Do you recommend sending the authentic original or what?

Thanks everyone!

Caliboylost,

Its purely luck! However, I did try to include only the required information and nothing else. When I got approved fast the first time, I was scolding for writing what i did by many people, but it was my experience. I did the same with the NVC process and no rfe's no issues.

There are many different ways to present your case/information/data. I just choose to make it very idiot proof. I ticked and tied everything for the reviewer. I labeled and marked every document plus color coded the labeling. I also made sure that all my copies of information were colored copies not black and white (pleasing to the eye). If I didnt understand a question I asked VJ members then re-confirmed with the USCIS and NVC, however the NVC responses were more polite then the USCIS.

All my cover letters I had notarized. Its not required by any means, but it makes the presentation look official (pleasing to the eye ;-). I didnt type any of my documents I sent them in, hand written with blue ink, so they knew they were originals and not copies. At the USCIS stage I gave all copies no originals. I did not include copies of the copies just one set. For the NVC, I included originals/certified copies plus photocopies in color.

As for proof, I only included two wedding pictures and color copies of all pages of my passport to support my traveling. My packet was very light/thin, less for them to get antsy about when processing.

My experience. I hope that helped.

PS> I would include the translated documents, I think they are required in your case. Note, some cases require different information/data. Make sure you research research and reserach and ask for help, especially from those that have already been through the process for your country. This site is wonderful.

Ahh not to beat the horse again with the same stick but for this line "For the NVC, I included originals/certified copies plus photocopies in color." Did you include copies of the originals as well the originals? Or just all originals?

And you shouldnt get scolded for saving everyone a major pain. You should be our hero lol. If everyone did the same maybe the visa process would be much faster for everyone making the whole system go faster and faster.
