:goofy: We are driving to Tampa next week so my husband can have a 2nd job interview. The company is paying for the trip but will only pay for 1-2 nights in Tampa. We would like to drive over to one of the beaches with the kids and stay 1 night (our funds are so very, very limited). I know there are lots of nice beaches so I don't know how to pick the right one. We will have to get a hotel for one night (unfortunately can't do a condo - again, no money). Thanks! :goofy:

Since you have kids, Clearwater beach might be a good option. There are other smaller even nicer beaches, but I think Clearwater Beach would be more fun overall. You would take 60 straight across to Clearwater Beach from Tampa. It's a neat causeway, in my opinion, that'll take you to the other side of Tamp Bay. 60 is also called The Courtney Campbell Causeway, and Gulf to Bay Blvd. Just avoid rush hour on it if possible!

I have always enjoyed Siesta Key, which is a little south of Tampa. Clearwater is also nice, but it has gotten really congested lately.

i would have to vote for Clearwater Beach as well. Location is very easy to get to, and has lots of cute shopping areas surrounding it. Siesta Kiey is a little out of the way if its just a quick getaway for an interview, but i have to agree it is a sweet little area!
