Anyone here in VJ who changed their first name in their EAD and green card different from the one in their passport? Is it going to be a cause for concern in the future, say, like going on a trip outside the United States?

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

Did you legally change your first name?

As far as US laws are concerned, I did. I just changed the spelling of my first name because I didn't like it. It makes me uncomfortable the way people addressed me with my first name.

That's cool - my concern would have been being able to show proof of why the passport is different from the EAD/PR-Green Card. For married-last names it is a simple matter of having a copy of the marriage certificate.

Yeah. A copy of the marriage certificate would surely help when it comes to my last name. But with my new first name, I don't know.

You've got legal proof of the name change - you should be just fine.
